In my opinion this tread is silly by name. you will never get an answer to that question because as some have pointed out, there isn't one answer that is the right answer. ask 10 people this question & you'll get 10 different replies.
In my opinion the tread should be more specific (as others have mentioned) asphalt or carpet, indoor or outdoor track, foam or rubber, lipo or sub-c...
Local (to you) part support is usually important consideration as is durability, ease of wrenching, cost of kit & parts, to some support of the LHS is important (I don't have a LHS so I support Steve Amador-he is the best).
As for my choice I have the Losi car & I do rate it as a top performer.
As a second choice I would recommend TM's E4.
That It. all other cars are equal in my eyes. they all have the battery in the wrong place IMO, I run Lipo only now & getting the car (all others besides JRXS type-R & E4) balanced side to side & front to rear adds a lot of unnecessary weight to the car plus it makes the car ugly & cluttered with those little square weights glued all over the lower deck.

the t2 008 seems to be the most dominant on carpet tracks.

Default best touring car

If your a beginner.. check first what brands your race tracks is running.. see what kit the fast guys are running, ask them their opinion. See if you can get support from them if you buy the same brand... and enjoy racing.

Nothing is more hard than to figure out what is the best setup on the track if you bring something only you are using.

Once you get better at racing... you can experiment on the other brands and look for something you like by just the look of it.. so that even you don't win races you can still came home from the race and appreciate your car, because you like it.

Default What's your opinion now 1 year later?

Curious to know how people look at the cars that were mentioned now a year later, and with new cars out and some soon to come. I am tinkering with the idea of jumping in to asphalt racing with a TC. So many options out there! With so much stuff on backorder with Hot Bodies, I dare not go there. Even though it is a good entry level car. The TC5 seems to be awesome out of the box as I have been told. XRAY's car is super sweet, so I;m told, but if you lay into a wall, the bulkheads alone are 50 bucks each to replace. The new Team Losi car looks so well engineered that, it's allmost a shame to let it get dirty. So I ask, what are your feelings now a year later? Thanks in advance, Vinny
