The reality of the situation is this. Sales for the car were very slow this year.
We ran out of inventory, we have to re-order a minimum amount and felt that was unrealistic to sell in an appropriate amount of time.

There were talks of making an updated kit but again sales figures did not support making another car.

If the racers are serious about continuing with 10R pan car then they need to speak with your shops and have them speak with distributors.

That is unfortunate, I am pretty happy with my 10R5s. The only thing I don't like about them is the battery setup. It would have been great to offer it in a configuration that allowed large 2S packs to fit down the centerline of the chassis instead of limiting it to smaller 1 cell or 4-cell NiMh setups. There is tons of free space on the 10R5 so this would allow us to run whatever packs we want (1 cell, 4 cell NiMh or large 2S packs). Besides the battery problem, I really like how they drive, I just wish I could stuff a bigger battery in there for more practice time or a 2S pack in there for more punch. The compatibillity with many of the 12R5.1 parts was great!! I just stocked up on a bunch of parts that work with both cars. Sad to see this one go, an update would have had me spending more money

I think the big thing is, Assoc make so many different types of car. At the moment Touring and 1/12 are big for on-road, so that's where there efforts are. 1/10 Pan is still getting back on the rise, so like said, sales aren't there yet.
When Assoc see bigger meets with 1/10 Pan and see the sales from other suppliers going up, as well as classes sorting themselves out (battery sizes etc), they will bring out a new version.
1/10 Pan has only started coming back the last few years. When TC dies down, and it will, Pan will make a resurgence.

Discontinued? Great, I can't believe I sat on Santa's lap and asked for a 10r5.

I wouldn't worry, the whole fron end and pod are the same as the 1/12 and that ain't going out in a hurry.
I'd just see if you can get a new chassis to throw in the cupboard, and you should be fine. You can also use some CRC parts, so it's no biggie really.
Shops will have parts for years to come.

I wouldnt worry... many parts are compatible with 1/12th car. If anything this creates an opportunity for savy aftermarket designers to design and sell a market for 10r5 custom parts, such as chassis and or mods to support 2s packs etc...

I am one happy to see 10th pan cars making a come back. This is the class I got introduced to rc in the early 90s with the 10L back and LSO cars. Hopefully it will thrive again and we will see more cars.

WGT is one venue, I believe, that will bring these back

Sean, happy to see you still in the biz... I used to race with you and Rick V. back when Shiloh used to host indoor carpet racing.

Thumbs up RE...10R5

Is there a specific brushless rear pod upgrade for the 10R5 or were they already offset for brushless when theycame ou???????. Finally should have some time in the new year to play. I believe we are running 1S and 13.5.

Darn, that was not what I was hoping for. I was expecting a new chassis for battery placement in line like the CRC and Xray.

They must be trying to sell out leftover inventory.

In a less populated class I wouldn't plan on seeing a new vehicle, I would just be happy you have a kit now

When a car is this good, you don't need to copy the others. The car went out of production, but has been brought back by popular demand, probably because it handles so well out of the box, and doesn't need a trick battery placement to get customers! There was no inventory, now there is some.

I'll be ordering some spare CF parts for mine, as all the rest is the same as the 12R5. Thanks AE, we appreciate the chance to keep the best car in WGT going!
