Hi Infinite 12th, yes the R9984 is just plug in and go. Nothing extra, no cloning etc, works the same as normal personal transponders.

It is unclear in the pdf instructions on their website, but can you only clone the old version transponders? Can you clone the newer, smaller units?

There are two different "newer ones" (rc4). The latest one (just came out) has 3 wires... as of right now this one can't be cloned... not sure about the earlier 2 wire ones.

Neither of the smaller AMB units can be cloned at mRT, jsut the larger/older units.

And +1k for Terry's customer service. I have about 8 pt's and one recently started acting up on me (after about 6 years of week in week out use) I sent him an e-mail and sent it back. Viola, a couple weeks later he sent me a new one, no charge. Much appreciated.

just curious, there are mrt transponders in stock at Stormer's and others. do these have unique id's? can copies (or clones?) be ordered from mrt?

1) apparently the mrt transponders on sale at stormer's have a unique id
2) if so, can one or how does one order copies of one of these mrt transponder's (in stormer's stock)

sorry if this has been asked and answered, but i can be dense. all the instructions on 'cloning' seem centered around sending in an amb base.
