nope.... they wont take forever to reach top end .... if u have a punchy pack of batts .......

Gearing...
What are you guys using for gearing. I been trying to use different spur and pinion combinations and it just doesn't feel right. 7.14?

7.14 ? Sounds undergeared to me. Last year with 17T I've used ratios between 7.2 (short indoor track) and 5 (loooong 1/8 track).
So with 19T and 27T, you should use ratios between 7 (19T indoors maybe) and 5 (27T outdoors) I believe for usual tracks.

I geared 5 with a 17T outdoors, but it was a really specific track, with a 80 m straight, better for 1/8 or even 1/5 scale cars. The fastest car geared 4.7, but I just did not have more than 45T pinion !!!
But with a 27T a gearing of 5 or less will be more common outdoors. I don't have a lot of experience with 27T, I stopped this class 10 yrs ago, but comparing to what I used with my 17T, 7.1 with a 19T seems really undergeared...

i know the 414 isnt very good with tire widths and stuff
i know that 24mm is the largest in the front
but how bout the rear could u guyz run 28mm in the rear?

got some more newb questions
I've started playing around with the spacers on the suspension blocks with my car by raising them with an extra 2mm with the little blue spacers front and rear. the car handles much better than the standard settings for me but i've noticed that the belt is scraping and has taken out around 1mm of the front suspension block!
how could i raise the block without the belt scraping it? I've tried raising the whole front bulk head by 2mm too, which cured the scraping problem but the belt gets really loose.
also, on the tamiya supplied set up sheets, what does C1, C2 for the front upright mean?

414M vs. Evo3 comparison
I gave my 414M a try yesterday, just to make a quick comparison. Running 19t carpet, surprisingly, it felt very similar to the Evo3. Lap times I guess would be about the same (couldn't compare since the track layout changed). I didn't feel a drastic loss of acceleration due to the belt drive. In stock class I feel that the Evo3 would have the edge because of the shaft drive. But in 19t and mod classes, the two cars are pretty similar.
In order to have the belt clear with a raised roll center you have to dremel the cut portion of the block a little bit.

get TB3 suspensio mounts, they are already raised by 2mm and it just works fine.

you can either run the evo 3 suspension blocks, or run the 414wcr block (if you able to get hold of it) as it has the cutout mod already done.
