If you're going to add timing to your setup you will need to drop your gearing accordingly.

In general for 64 pitch gears very 5 degrees you add of timing should be 2-4 teeth dropped on gearing. This is a "general" statement. Motor temps are the indication of your gearing. If your car is fast and motor temps are good, you're there. If you're a bit slow and motor temps are high, you're overgeared.

Anyone looking for 189 software can email me for it: [email protected]

I ask to know where you live/race so I can point out our team members for support.

what about a motor cooler?
Can i gear the motor heavier when i use a motor cooler?

Lots of motor failures at my track from people using motor coolers. All brands. This was an outdoor track. Not sure if it was condensation or what. Best just to gear in a safe range.

Tekin vs SPX on dyno.
SPX was fast. Tekin blows up the dyno

Tekin beads the SPX easy!!!

RS Pro: I set the lipo cutoff to 6.5V... If this is reached, what happens? Does the ESC stop responding completely to throttle input, or does it limit the current heavily... but allow you to bring the car 'home' ?

thanks.

Hi thanks Randy...

I'm using 48p gearing. So if I was safe using 180 in hybrid mode with everything default... so 12/100 in timing (3.6*).. then would I be safe if switch to 189 software and change to sensored only with 0* boost.

Then if safe I add boost from there...?

Maybe motor heat sinks would be better?

I think i will use a motor head sink. I don't cool the motor before the race.
I just put a head sink on the motor with a fan so the temps will not reach the 180.
Than i can gear it a bit heavy'r.
more power

they are going to test the gm speedo to as the dyno is repaired.
Also using a heavy'r fly wheel so they can measure the Tekin RS to.

How were your laptimes when you dropped it 5 teeth?

If the grip came up for the main, maybe the agressive throttle profile, coupled with a different gear ratio didnt help?

I'm guessing you've checked for any binding in the transmission.

Just throwing ideas out there to think over.

it reduces motor power, quite a bit, so it allows you to drive to the pits and not just stop dead on the main straight, lol.

This weekend setup. Redline 10.5, Powercel LiPo, RS Pro, Foams, 57mm

DB 1&2 LED's
NW 1&2 LED's
BS - 100
MT - Fwd/Brake
Vc - 2 LED's (6.0v)
TP - 3
Limiter - 90%

SENSORED ONLY

Boost MAX
Motor timing - 5'

ESC temp was 3-4LED's
Motor Temp 60'c (140'F)

Geared at 6.09:1

Decided to go with the RS and not the Pro. Only difference is the motor limit isnt it?

I only race spec classes 17.5 and 10.5 so no real need to fork out the extra $$ for the Pro. Ill be ordering the esc tomorrow. Looking forward to see how it compares against the tc spec.
