Thanks. I understood there was less timing but I couldn't put it together in my head if I should then gear up or down to compensate. I might try to add a tick of timing on the motor rather than changing the gearing.

Yes you would in fact be around 18-22 degrees of actual timing on the X-12 with the -10 insert, so that always needs to be taken into account when timing advance and turbo profiles are used.

tbh, im not sure what the difference is, I just know ive always run it in FW lol

I don't really know why it happened, as I ran the same firmware and gearing all day Saturday, and the Duo 2 never came off hotter than 67 degrees. When it let go, there was no sign of it going soft, it just stopped going onto the straight, and was on for A3 when spence temped the motor, it was showing 130 degrees, and the cap had blown off and was no where to be seen, aslo the positive wire had come unsoldered from the RS and the blue wire had come unsoldered from the motor, so there was major failiure, whether it was the Duo2 let go and took the RS or visa versa I guess I will never know

Default Physical Limitations

Did some playing around on the Hotwire just to see what would happen.

I set it on the following:

Throttle profile: 4
Timing Boost: 50
Turbo Boost: 18
Start RPM: 2721
End RPM: 10001
Turbo Ramp: 3.0

Motor: Novak Ballistic 17.5 with timing advanced full

I put my car on the car stand just to see how the throttle would respond. I pulled the trigger gently and it started sounding like a jet engine within less than a secon I pushed about halfway towards full throttle when all of a sudden pfifff! One of my tires completely blew out! It was a belted 36R and the belt completely ripped clean with the tire and the insert flying 3ft into the air.

I think I'll change the turbo ramp back to 2.0

Just for a learning excercise, can someone critique that set up?

I was loaned a LRP TC esc, and used a GM motor from my wet car from last year lol, I was geared at 4.56 where as I was running 7.29 with RS, funny thing was, I did exactly the same time I did last year in the finals when I won it, and my time would have given me 5th overal in the A this year lol

The only way for a speedo to take out a motor is if were ran too hot or overtimed.

IF the esc lived through it, the motor was the likely faiulre point. You're lucky, this often results in a esc failure as well.

Too much turbo IMHO. If you temping OK, I would reduce your turbo to 5, leave the ramp at three and move your timing up to max. YMMV

Hey Andrew, when you coming back to Jackon, MS (Flowood)? Thanks for your help with the Tekin and the WGT setup. WGT is starting to pickup since that race, we may wind up with a full class today.
