For anyone on a mac looking for parallels to run windows and hotwire there is a mini sale of sorts on a software bundle for macs here for the next 6 days:

I had been dual booting as well. Its so cool to run in crystal mode and see hotwire pop up "natively" on a mac desktop.

sorry if this has been asked before.. i has read page 650-700 and couldnt find it.
if I set turbo to "max", what does it mean? does the ESC keep adding the timing without limit?

i think max turbo is just a total of 20 degrees of timing. i think most people have been leaving turbo off or very low. i only maxed it because i was on a 200ft (65m) long track and was using a 17.5 turn motor.

max turbo is only 20* but with 203 most only use 10 because we are addind 20-25* more to the timing boost

I need a little help.
I would like to run with lipo cut-off in 1 cell 1:12 scale but when I turn on the esc I get noise on the throttle how do i fix this problem? i have set the esc to 1 cell lipo with a cut off voltage at 3.0 Volt
there is no noise when i run esc off.

what should i do with my gearing if i am increasing my voltage. i am switch from 4cell nimh to 2s lipo. should i drop to a smaller pinion to keep the current down, since i would have tons more rpm?

rc12r5 with a redline sensored 2.5 its at 20/96 right now. let me correct my statement above. i want to try 2s lipo, not permanently switch to it.

LRP x12 17.5
FDR- 6.8 to 7.2 for asphalt, I stayed with 7.2 on carpet
motor- x-10 insert
tekin profile-4
drag brk-10
neutral width-14
boost-45
turbo-9
ramp 2 or 3- with slow turns / heavy low RPM loads 3 will fade
delay- .2 or .3- faster ur entering straight, earlier u can bring it in
start RPM- 5000
end RPM- 13000 - 15000 (alter this to help control heat. lower= faster boost increase / little more heat)
ALWAYS check ur temp at the 2 or 3 minute mark with x12 motors on first run or after any change. They aren't all the same and some get hotter much quicker. Some may like 1 or 2 teeth less, some may like up to 3 or 4 teeth more- u have to find that out on your own, but shoot for around 198F (or less) with no fan after 6 min. I practice/tune with turbo on 8 and ramp 2. Temps are 155-160 outdoors w/no fan. When I'm in that range I know I can turn the turbo up a bump and or increase ramp, run the fan and I'm golden.
Last quick tip- if you're having trouble with the turbo coming in while in the infield and giving you a "shot" that messes u up for the next turn, do like Obama and rob Peter to pay Paul by adding 3 or 4 to your boost and taking away 2 or 3 from your turbo. You can also move the delay up or down one tenth. I would much rather give up 1 car length on the back straight than give up 3 or 4 because I overshoot a certain infield turn every time.

For reference the mod guys run a 100/25 or so with a 4.5 on 1 cell lipo I think. If a 125/20 would fit I would start there. Just make sure Marty and Doc are able to communicate when the clock strikes twelve or that 4.2 gigawatts of power isn't going to be pretty!
Just for fun you should use a Tekin with the 203 software with max timing and boost in sensored mode. Point it in the direction of the Taliban and see what happens! (J/K, please do not try this)

To save myself from sending so many PM's, yes I have successfully been running an LRP x12 17.5 in TC on asphalt and carpet rubber tires. Of course, like most you will only use part of it or you'll try to adapt it to your 5.6FDR and come back and say it doesn't work for you...LOL (j/k Dusttt)
