Option 1 is your best bet. Option two would be too narrow of a timing curve and will not get you the torque down low where you want it. Their top speed would be similiar but the motor will run hotter in option 2.
You can take Option 1 and narrow it up a bit using a start rpm of around 2,000 and end rpm of say 7500 or so. This will be an "inbetween" the two.

Wouldn't introducing timing at low revs lose some of the torque? Sure the 2000 RPM low limit you suggest is not that low, but at 800 I would think option 1 is not ideal.

Are people running the RS Pro or RS in 1/12 mod using a 3.5/4.5? The RS was rated at 5.5 with 2S. So with a 1s it should be able to handle a 3.5/4.5. I assume non of the Tekin guys can comment for warranty/liability reasons but anyone else?
if you are running those type of turn mods, I would get an rs pro
Donny Lia ran a 4.0T at Snowbirds, Mike Dumas ran a 3.5 at Vegas.
Yes and no. In theory this is correct more timing is less torque. I'm doing just that by telling him to raise his start rpm higher than 800. There is always motor timing involved so I'd like to see the car get rolling BEFORE the esc adds any timing.

Well guys, finally got my 2nd race with the Tekin RS PRO System on the 13.5 Brushless class.
First of all, thanks to all people here in the forum + Randy from Team Tekin for helping me out with ESC/Car setup for this track. Its very big straight for a 13.5 but at the end, all went great (198 feet straight).
Results (track people asked me to make this, organization people at the track got delayed and finally no podium picture was taken) :
And here is the video of last 8 minute round, wich gave me the victory :
Hope you enjoy.
Under our racing regulations, race start doing "oval" or at least not entering into the layout until first lap ... crazy uh ? lol !!
Track "looks" dusty but its not, very good grip we dont know why after last maintenance, asphalt dont want to look "dark" even when washed and prepared, ended 2nd place on GT Class will try to post the video for you to enjoy lol !!
Made one big mistake by lap 3-4 but recovered ... looong back straight, lots of speed. Motor after 8 minutes racing ended on 147F.
cya and thanks again guys !!
Randy : Sorry for absence of Cap and Shirt man lol !!, as you know, i landed back into my country after a international job assignment just couple hours prior to the race, a friend picked up my stuff at my home and i went directly from the Airport to track ... lol !!!

Thanks for the reply. I will try the rpm range you have suggested. On a small track I was think that there might be a benefit to using the motors natural power band to get off the corner say from 1000 - 4000 rpms before you kick in the timing and then artificially boost the rpm range quickly once the motor is spinning from 4000 - 7500.
So the question is by ramping the Rpm from 2500 - 7500 more slowly will prevent the timing being added to quickly rather the other case where we add it all from 4000+ to 7000 where the motor is operating in an efficient range prior to the timing being added quickly, I could see where this in some cases would overload the motor with too much timing to quickly as well.
Let me know your extended thought and I will try the suggestion you have given as well this weekend.
Thanks
