Tekin RS ESC sensored
hey guys, just looking for some advice in regards to a 17.5 TC setup for a very large track. its predominantly a nitro track here in sydney, known as John Grant International Raceway. it is a very flowy track with a (roughly) 60m straight with a nice full throttle sweeper. i have only ever raced on much smaller tracks with the RS so some solid advice would be greatly appreciated.
I have included a Youtube video so everyone can get a good idea of how big the track actually is:

i would go in the 30-35 timing boost 5-10 motor 3k start 15k end turbo 15-20 .8-1sec delay geared around a 5.0 this is what i would start if i was there but it is not set in stone as a starting point just check your temps
I'm curious. What would be more efficient for 1/12th mod? A hot motor with very little timing or a milder motor like an 8.5 or something with lots of timing.
I can use most of a 4900mah pack with 10.5 so I wonder just how much faster I could go with an all out mod set-up. Of course, that's running hard, no half throttle business.
Which brings me to my next question. Back in my mod days of round cells and brushed motors, the trick was to run a hot motor with lots of gear that would dump if you ran flat out but at half throttle most of the way, you could run fast and make time. Is that still the case with brushless and 1s or do the pros run hard nowadays.
