Having read every post so since the 203 release unlike others, i see a trend.
Most issues seem to be from guys chasing to get the turbo working and ignoring the advice to get the setup good with boost timing and only then using turbo if needed on long tracks or straights.
Another is guys setting there boost with iether too much timing or making it ramp up too fast and in too low a start rpm.

Randy and a few others have given very good base setups that the guys can work from but again a lot of guys are too lazy to read through the thread.
Its one thing to ask a question to benefit all of us but we are getting so many of the same questions repeated.

If guys can take the time to read then this thread wont grow so fast and we will get even better feedback.

sorry for the rant just my 2 cents...

If you select 12,000 RPM as the end point and the same 30 degrees of timing boost, you're adding 3.33 degrees per 1000 RPM while the motor is between 3000 and 12,000 RPM.
Ok thanks,
I was starting with only the Boost but I missed a lot of top speed. I think that I was geared to light when I see all the other setups.

I went back to almost the same gearing as with the V200.
Start RPM around the 4000 end RPM around the 17000.
The first few meters were also to slow I think because I was geared to light.
I think the motor doesn't make that much RPM's ad the start to compensate the light gearing.

Well it has been less than one week and the Vegas 2 software has been prohibited to be run in the 17.5 class at the 2010 USORC and at my local track in the 17.5 class also.

Tekin did too good of a job!

I'm not bitching about these decisions...just commenting on how truly fast the V203 can make you.

And for those that like to run these two classes it'd be great to be able to save profiles.

I think that I can go faster with a 17,5T with 2 cell lipo than a 10,5T 5 cell what we drove last year. Tekin did great.
I think a bit to great to keep the car on the track.
I'm going to ask if I may use a 13,5T motor ad the next race instead the 10,5T motor. And I believe that I can keep up with the others with the Tekin RS Pro

Hi there,

I´m considering the aquisition of a new speedo for my Associated B4. I´m currently using a GM Genius 120 with CS 9.5T motor, but i´m moving this combo to my Xray T3.
I have some options... Speed Passion, Tekin RS Pro or another GM.

I´m considering the RS Pro. Besides Tekin motors, what other brand do you recomend ? Can i use a Speed Passion V3 7.5T ?

Thanks.

I use Tekin RS Pro with Speedpassion 10,5T. Work well together. Altough I have not tried this combo with the new firmware. I am sure they will work well, just have not tried them yet.

The new software can handle all the motors.
You only need to find the right setup but that counts for every speedo.

Why not a Tekin motor? In a off road car it's better than the open motors with all that sand.

I think that You want 2 Tekins when you have field the power. LOL

with a 7.5 that will be in dual mode and you miss the turbo timing boost,if you kep the 9.5 it is bordeline for sensored mode and you get the timing boost and could be faster with this setup

I'm not enjoying hearing about the trend of banning v203. There are other ESC options available that offer similar types of improvements. The Novak Kinetic will be out soon and will give another option to all racers. I really support my Tekin guys and their products. At the same time, I hope the Kinetic gets out ASAP. That's the only way we can keep things moving forward apparently? Then we can have the head to head battle I trust all the Novak owners are salivating for.

If we're all having to change over to Brushless/LiPo and Software ESC's, why push back the other way right in the middle of the transition? If they're not going to let things develop, why do it in the first place? Tekin set the benchmark so far, no question. Everbody else better get off their @$# if they want a piece.

There is no reason you can't run a 7.5 in sensored mode. I run all my motors on sensored only from my 17.5's down to my 6.5 in my b44. There is a vast difference in how you setup a mod motor with sensored only, but I prefer it over dual mode every time I compare the two.

I guess I've missed it, but who is talking of Banning the Tekin v203 software?

The earlier issue of talk about the Advanced ESC being distributed by CRC being banned, or not allowed at an event, was that CRC went to a large race event and sprung it on everyone as a secret weapon against the entire field. To add to the issue, it was uavailable for purchase from anywhere or anyone at the time. With Tekin, the Tekin RS and RS Pro have been available for some time now, and the software for this improvement is freely available to anyone.
