That's the same thing I'm running now and haven't had a problem you should be ok. Dual mode works well to give it a little m9re oommpphh.

For anyone interested, heres the setup I settled on after a test day at the track with one of my other stock racing mates:

RS/Redline

FDR: 5.33
Start rpm: 4900
End rpm: 13900
Boost: 40
Turbo: 20 (max)
Motor: 0
Turbo delay: 0.3
Turbo ramp: 2.0
Motor temp @ 5 mins: 81*c

This felt great. We used eachother as benchmarks, my car was slower to begin with so we worked on that, then when it was faster we worked on his.

I still want to work on the end rpm, for one to get the heat down a little, and secondly the turbo is kicking in at a short straight a few meters before I break for a hairpin, but I don't want to change the turbo delay because I dont think it will then be fast enough for the main straight. I just have to experiment with it

Thanks again.

need advice, i'm planning to race on mod touring car(rubber) with rs pro and redline 5.5t on asphalt nitro track with 80 meters main straight ,med grip. The question is can the rs pro handle the redline 5.5t in sensored mode boost-turbo. need a baseline setup because since this is the first time to run mod motor on my rs pro, anyway with lrp x12 10.5t is fine for me, winning the 2011 season in our local track, setting the new track record for the 10.5 rubber category and equalling lap times of the nitros. Thanks.

here's something u can try-D3 4.5 mid hole (adjust fdr for ur 5.5) i used for many many races (club tqs/wins) this past spring/summer/fall seasontry it)

for mod i find that-esc/gearing/tires is everything or the car is undrivable or corner overshoots
150ft backstraight-medium/low smooth cleaned parking lot asphalt
clocked at 52mph on the straight-mi4cx stock,
with help from others
45, 10 (12 blows the tires off the rim!), delay.32, ramp 2, drag/brake 25/81, throttle prof 1, FDR 12.75, rpm 30k/5k, 10 intiail brake/throttle/neutral width, current lim off

easy to drive in the infield and rockets in the backstraight

You do not need to use boost and turbo for 5.5t motor or it might heat up a lot or even blow your motor/speedo, but it is possible to use a little bit of boost, RSpro is no prob with mod 5.5t anyway, i would suggest that you start with mod setup and no timing then work gently on boost and see the difference, then even smaller amount of turbo (not that needed) and check temp all the time, you obliviously mastered 10.5t, so you have the basics fot variable timing.

Definitely disagree with that. If you don't run boost/turbo in mod, at least in my region, you will be left in the dust (even with a 4.5/5.5).

Anyways, if you are going to run mod full time, I highly suggest that you switch to an Speedpassion/Hobbywing speedo, or even an LRP. The "feel" and power delivery for mod is a lot better. The Tekin is an on/off switch in comparison.

If you read the rest of my post I explain why...what I mean is that he cannot put a 5.5t motor and run it like his 10.5t set-up.
But it is nice to mention other makes of speed controllers on Tekin's thread.

in my experience, when u raise the highend rpm, it will smooth out or eliminate the on/off feeling.....

I run mod with the following setup. As fast as any of the other speed controllers and runs cool as well. Just make sure you have two capacitors on the SC and a fan blowing on the heatsinks. The majority of my club runs a Tekin in mod.
Top speed at the end of our strait 110kph.

12 degree motor timing on a Tekin Redline 4.5 or 5.5
FDR approx 10.00
Boost 45
Turbo 15
Turbo delay 0.2
Turbo ramp 1
Start rpm 6000 approx
end rpm 32500 approx
Throttle profile 1
Brake min 8
Throttle min 8

Everything else fairly std of the top of my head.
Oh, run a fan on the motor if possible, although I have been coming of the track at about 75 degrees C.
