Hello everyone, it was nice to see everyone, match faces up and to be surrounded by fun and enthusiastic racers. Everyone did an awesome job and did what I had asked from the start at the 2008 ROAR Paved Nationals event. Great job and thank all of you.
I just would like for everyone to know that even if this was my first race as race director for ROAR or my last race that I want to ensure you that I had taken notes from the event on pros, cons and some things that needs too be addressed and on paper for the next ROAR event. I e-mailed a race report from me (Billy) to Dawn and Ruben on everything from wing measurement, marshal penalties, pre-tech - post tech, qualifying and main time posting, protest info and anything else that I thought needs to be addressed or that came up during and after the event. I gave my solution, ideas and some rules that need to be implemented in the rule book to better the racing and for all of you to enjoy yourself even more at these types of ROAR events. I did read a dig or two by a racer and I am sorry that you feel the way you do, but I went by the rules. Nothing went wrong at this event that was not handled professionally and by the rules. I am not stirring up anything just insuring that if you have felt that something did go wrong that I have written a race report and that I am investigating anything that might have gone wrong that you racers thought went wrong. ROAR will be the ones making the changes if needed and I hope that ROAR was happy with the result that was given to them.
Thank you for being understanding and for all your cooperation for the entire weekend. I like to thank RC Hobbies and the crew along with the RMT. We all worked together professionally and enjoyed being together.
Thank you again Billy Bowerman
