1. What tires are you running, what tires have you tested ?
2. It's likely that your 12th scale may never carve like WGT cars do on a parking lot, they have BIG wheels, BIG tires, and more weight, which can help sometimes when the grip is low

sorry to waste your time though. the cars are very similar. running the same overall setup though the 12th doesn't run any pod droop.

im having trouble getting my wgt to carve like the other wgt cars do. still a noob to pancars though. my 12th scale seemed alright with no setup changes, just magenta rear double pink fronts for outdoor.
ill post in the other thread but if you personally have any suggestions for wgt thats awesome.

Before you said it was the WGT car I was going to suggest moving the battery backward. I find this helps outdoors in 1/12.

Thinking of buying a 5.2 after a year or so of setup frustration with a Plasma Ra.

How does the 5.2 inline battery configuration work outdoors? I see there is little to no setup information for asphalt.

Any input would be great.

Hello everyone,

I'm building my first 1/12 pan car and need some help with gearing.

I have a*12r5.1*running a 7200mah 1s lipo, 6.5t trinity D4, and 1s hobbywing xerun esc, tyres are 46mm front and rear.

I will only be running this car in front of my house on smooth asphalt paved street. Not really into carpet tracks or racing.

My question is what would be a good pinion / spur combo for this setup? I was thinking 86t spur/40t pinion? Also, what timing should I run on the esc AND the motor can?

I just finished building my first RC12R5.2 and in the directions it includes 3 shims for the front wheels. In the picture it shows all three shims on first then the wheel with the flanged bearings in it and then the wheel nut. When I tighten the wheel nut down all the way the tire doesn't move freely at all. I was wondering if there is a specific way the shims have to go in. Example: 2 shims, wheel with bearing, 1 shim, wheel nut. Thanks

Not all wheels are the same
Normally 1 shim on inside, turn wheelnut on just far enough to keep wheel secured, but not so tight to keep from spinning free

If using BSR wheels you may use a shim on both sides as these wheels have a thinner center section

Don't tighten the nut all the way. Just enough to eliminate play while still spinning freely.

Ceramic bearings worth it on the RC12R5.2?

New to 12th scale and just picked up one of these....think I have a handle on everything but cant locate a starting gear for 17.5 1s on a small carpet (tight) track...any ideas??

Hey guys,

So in lew of recent bad luck with my CRC Gen Xl I picked up a 12r5.2 factory team yesterday, got it built and ready to drive as well.

Is there any upgrades you'd recommend? As well as, what's your commonly broken spare parts list like? Lol

From my understanding to extend the length of the center shock on the RC12R5.2 you have to take the shock off, unscrew the set screw and manually adjust the length of the shock. If I'm correct, is there and easier way to do this to make it easier or is it just a pain in the a$$?

the square on the ball stud end can be turned with the wrench included in the kit to lenthening and shorten the over all length of the shock in the car.
