I've been running these damper tubes for years and have never broke one. You take a big hit the ball cup will simply pop off. And still that take A LOT to do.

Before I buy some ceramic diff balls for the 12R diff. I recently switched to gear diffs for my touring car and have a couple set of 3mm ceramic balls that im not using.

Will 3mm ceramic diff balls fit the 12R?

I don't think so... .125 dia is standard diff ball and 3mm is smaller,,you may have to change to metric spur gear...

I know this information is somewhere in this thread but a search disnt give me the reaults i wanted so....

My 5.1 came with a 96 spur what size pinion range should i pick up for 17.5 boosted? Or if i need new spurs, is there a type to get? New to pancars. Only just started to figure out the touring car before season ended.

We gear to a 75 to 80mm rollout for a smallish 60'x35' track.

96 is usually kind huge for what most people need in 1/12. The gent above who's 75-80mm rollout is about exactly what I ran on a couple of smallish tracks a year ago.

Use a rollout calculator like gearchart.com. But for example, with a 44mm Rear Wheel, a 76T Spur, and 44T Pinion will get you on the upper end of that rollout range.

What's the proper way to read ride height for the rear of the car and how much preload should be used on the center shock spring.

You slip a ride height gauge under the rear of the car while it sits on a flat surface and read the number nearest the lower pod.

Adjust the preload so the middle of the chassis is the same height or very near to that of the front and rear.
