When did we ever run in the same class...OR, is everyone going to 13.5???

Ask Lex how my 13.5 went last Friday at Norcal...

Revo-a-go-go and then the KO GP. But, odd call about no 13.5 BL at the KO...When everyone I know has one...Big, big, big mistake...Should make that a fourth class...Then I (and others) can grow the entries to probably what should have been the largest class. Whatever.

And I would run them all with my SMC 5000s...To get back on topic...Sorry!

13.5 is all I've run the last couple of times out. I'm done with mod. I'm not running the KO but I agree that no 13.5 class probably would have been better than the 10.5 class. Oh well....not my call. SMC is all that's been in my car all season. I like the new look of the top mounted wired 5000 but there's no need for me to get more packs because these are still running strong.

I need the top wires to work with my ballast system and my chassis so I've been impatiently waiting on this!

Bill is marked for running under weight - I actually run around 1535 with fresh tires as I'd rather be used to how my car runs at the required spec.

I'm surprised the KO is running 10.5 as Super Stock - 13.5 is definitely the biggest TC class in this area.

Hey guys/Danny,
Been reading this stuff all day and my head hurts. I am looking for a favorite easy charger.... anyone care to share? I have a FMA charger which works great for the Orion bats, but it uses banana plugs and a center tap for balancing. I do own an Equinox balancer/interface which maxes out at 6 amps and I see that guys are charging at 8-10 amps. Are you guys charging without a balancer at 8 to 10 amp and then occasionally using a balancer at lower amps just for conditioning? Since my FMA charger does up to 10 amps, can I adapt it straight into the SMC 5000 without the use of the balancer?

Also, I am looking for the Liposack but can't seem to locate any currently in stock or stocked at all. Little help

Danny has been recommending (and I am soon to get) the Hyperion HP-EOS0610i. There is a Duo version as well if you need to work with a couple packs. Everyone I know in my area who uses it loves it. Firmware is upgradeable and it charges everything and includes a balancer.

For a sack I use the Racer's Edge ones...usually about $25 or so. I've never ordered from these guys but Google came up with this link to buy one.

I use the DUO charger and love it. I have one side set up for my SMC and the other side set up for NIMH or Orion style. It has built in balancing and runs super.

What FMA charger do you have ? There should be adpaters for it to use our balance connector which is called JST-XH.

Hi Danny,

I just bought this adapter for my battery. Should it fit correctly with this pack? I am using a Hyperion EOS 0606i Li/NiMH/A123 AC/DC Balancing Charger.

Thanks, Jacob

It's a FMA Scorpion 2S. Very simple. Great "training wheel" lipo charger. Dial amperage knob, green light goes solid.... time to race! Where would I find this adapter if I wanted to charge up a SMC 5000?

I'm not sure but based on the description it should work. I think what you will have to do is to plug this adapter into the board that came with your Hyperion charger. You could of also bought the JST-XH adpater board for the Hyperion chargers as it costs 7 US dollars.

I would contact FMA and ask them if there is an adpater for this charger to be able to charge packs that use JST-XH connectors.

I know that have adpaters for the Cell Pro style charger.

I would have done that, but I am in a rush to get going and this should fit the pack I have so I just went ahead and bought it since the site was in the UK. If i do buy another pack from you I will get it (and i most certainly will).

Slightly off topic, but i am making a 39" Boat for a School project and I plan on running Brushless and LiPo. What SMC pack could you recommend for a long runtime?

I would use our soon to be released 24C/5200 and if 5200 isn't giving you enough playtime you can add another pack in parallel and get 10400mAh.

I'll probably run the parallel. Any news on the sizes so I can plan out the interior? I'm looking forward to this project already

Finally the new top wire 5000s have arrived today. It will take us 3 days next week to cycle every pack but we will be shipping out packs to distributors daily.
