It fits inside the foam as long as there are no weights on the side of the battery. If there are weights on the battery, you can cut one side of the foam off.
The heating element can get pretty hot, so the foam is good. The heat transfers through the hard case pretty well...you can feel the heat on the top of the battery after it sits in the tray for a little while.

Any chance the 5000mah top wire edition will be out within a week or should I just buy the 4000mah that's out? I have a pretty big race coming up this month and run stock 17.5 so I am looking for the extra punch of the SMC 5000. Thanks!

Yes was thinking the Revo race, but now that Marin is doing their West Coast TC Kings race it would be nice to have before then as well. See you this weekend for sure! Maybe next year I'll be ready to step up to your class

I TQ'ed the last time out but had some issue's in the main. My 5000 pack was awesome all day. This time I might balance charge it just to make sure that it's completely race ready to lay the smack down since alot of trash talking has been going on.... I have my new Novak goodies coming in this week along with a new body and I have a new radio as well. Too bad I still have my same piss poor attitude Danny better get his inventory ready because after this weekend everyone will want what they got beat by...... Thanks again for the body info.

The 5000s with top wire cases will ship out to distributors at the end of next week. Our shipment got stuck in Chinese customs but it finally got cleared and should be on it's way this week.

Danny what was the reasoning for the guys running for smc to run the 5000 lipo ?

Just curious cause logic would say that a 2s1p(4000) would have lower resistance than a 2s2p(5000).

Maybe i am wrong, and if i am can you please drop some knowledge on me cause i am very new to lipo

A 2S2P will not have higher IR than a 2S pack. When it comes to Lipos the bigger the cells the better they will be as far as IR. So our 5000 has better IR and voltage than our 4000. That being said some racers did use the 4000 with good results at the IIC.
