YR4 - I noticed that there is another hole for the single arm steering pivot that is more forward. If I use the forward hole on the pivot, how would that change my steering? - Steering will be more aggressive I believe.
Also, on the front suspension arm pin holder there are two settings, 1.5 and 2.5. What result will I get from putting this at 2.5? - at the 1.5 setting is less aggressive than 2.5 as the pins are swept outward. |

dog bone issue for E4RS
Did anybody buy dog bone (#503214-1, 503216-1) for spare? I recently broke one front dog bone and when I open the part (503214-1) I found the hole on one end (for joint pin) is bigger than the broken one in my E4RS 2009. I contact TM and they said 503214-1 is old version and can't be used in E4RS 2009. If you want to replace dog bone, you need to buy the whole set (503214, http://www.wolfhobbies.com/E4_Parts-...l_Joint_2.html) Just some information want to share, if you bought parts above from Wolf, you may want to contact them

nice
Callahan..
Superglue the cut outs and edges, I use a few cotton buds to apply...Then those lightened cutouts make a nice place to insert some black background TM stickers for some bling:) Enjoy.. h |

I have heard of people running your particular suspension setup before. As far as why not running e4 spring kit...... I have not found a kit that states it is for the e4rs. I too have an e4rs 09. The silver springs it comes with seem nice. I was hoping to find springs just for the e4. I don't wanna piece this car from that car to this car to that car. That's just a pain. Not to mention, what if down the road I forget?:weird: PLust the shocks my car comes with are the top of the line team magic shocks. No sense in spending another 120 bucks to buy tamiya shocks and some springs.
http://www.ampdraw.com/product/2994/...er-Special-Set $50-60 you can get yourself a set of shocks that can last you a full season without rebuilding, and thats why I don't even bother to use the TM shocks and deal with another sets of short springs. Tamiya optional springs sets are like $12 per pack of 4 settings, the most you need are 2 package for front and rear = $25. TC5 lower spring seats are like $10....total modification under $90 and you can use any typical TC springs in the market PLUS a better damper then the original TM one. On my TM G4RS, I too get the Tamiya Shocks for it...before, it was Schumacher which are pretty darn good as well. A mile better then the TM one. |

1) Single arm steering; the RS on the Wolf site shows dual arm. 2) Holes for steering servo mounts; the E4RS exploded view shows servo tape. Do all the new RS kits have these features? When was it changed? |
The new car has a single swing arm as the dual is from the previous chassis. My servo is mounted with aluminum posts that I brought. Further I use the stock shocks with no issues, no leaks, no inconsistencies and no drama. I have had many Tamiyas and yes their shocks are the shocks of shocks but I would venture to say the E4 shocks are just fine. They are better than Xray shocks in my opinion. The only things that have changed I believe are the servo arm, more room for the motor (could still use more) and arm design as you see discontinued arms on the wolf site.

Just to clear things up....E4RS does NOT need to use Tamiya shocks in order to work. I am sure the stock shocks from TM is as good or good enough for any racing. I changed to Tamiya shocks simply because I am BLUE crazy.
I changed the shocks because I have plenty of standard springs sets in my pit box and I refused to stock another sets of springs esepcailly they are the shorter type that I cannot use them except the E4RS. So instead of spending $60 for the E4RS springs set I use the same among of $ and get the Tamiya shocks so I can use all my existing springs. All the springs I own (Xray, Schumacher, Tamiya, AE) I have written springs rate printed and attached onto my pit box so I kwow what color related to what weight... My foam car is still using the stock TM shocks with TC5 lower spring plate...it works great and yes I am being lazy too. Overall...I am just being lazy, or cutting corner, or whatever ppl said. |
No I agree Solara. Tamiya shocks are it and I understood what you were saying. I just wanted to say the TM shocks are good as well.
