Thanks guys!
The car is surprisingly smooth to drive. Didn't really do much to the set up here yet it was very easy to drive.
Testing in 2019 with Blinky 21.5;

I see a bunch of parts on that car that don't appear to be part of the conversion or part of the TA07 kit (eg alloy bulkheads). Does this require the MS version or any TA07 kit?

Ta07, not the MS.

Also available and sold separately;

TA07 ALLOY BULKHEAD SET.

How is it called FF77? "FF" stands for Front motor-Front drive. But this is mid-motor so it should be "MF". It's quite confusing for those who aren't familiar with FWD cars. Exotek should correct it. If not, others will follow.

There's already precedence for it - the conversion kit for the Associated TC7.2 has a similar name. That doesn't make it right though.

That's right. For sure other conversion kits with mid-motor layout FWD will follow calling their kits "FF" too. Funny how they spend time and effort in redesigning and coming up with parts while they can't even think properly on what to call their kits.

My local track is thinking of adding a USGT FWD class, or just running them all together with the 4WD USGT Cars and I'm in, probably with the Xray since I already have other Xray cars, that is to say, parts! Thoughts?

Anyone running the Xray T4F in USGT? How does it perform with the spec 21.5 and the spec tires on black carpet? Competitive with the 4WD cars (speed/handling)? What gear ratio are you running?

FWD is already part of the USGT rule set. Everything is the same, except you're expected to run a FWD body, and there's no minimum weight.

I've not had success, but I've tried for a while. I'm currently seeking the lightest possible chassis. I think I can get something under 1000g with body.

I’ve noticed there shorty battery seems popular and I can see why for balancing the chassis it makes sense.

i have yet to run mine and currently have 4000 mah shorties. What seems to be a good battery size capacity?

Not black carpet, but I've been running my Xray T4F in USGT with great success, I always finish top three. The only real weakness is the start of the main, since I don't have the grip of the AWD cars, I have a hard time maintaining my qual position.

Same experience in regards to FWD in USGT. Once the car is moving, it is as fast as any USGT 4WD.

Default Just joined the FWD club

I picked up a Kyosho Mantis GP FF about a week ago . Just getting to know it, and tweaking it a little bit. The handling is very forgiving compared to the RWDs and AWDs I'm used to. It refuses to bite me no matter how hard I push it!

It's not letting me attach a pic, for some reason it thinks it's a URL, and I haven't made enough posts to be able to post URLs...
