According to Rick Hohwart's post in the "Stockstar" thread, they weren't available in time for legalization.

Hey Big Red how's the action down there? You got the 12th hooked up? I was also looking for the scoring to check up on you guys, but haven't seen anything yet.

CO27's are the stock motors of choice.

the internet is broadband wireless so it keep going down with all the at track racers surfing on it. then they kicked the track off and just allowed Doug to use the internet. but then it was still flaky.... clearwire internet ain't so clear...

other news Barry didn't count the last round... he checked but he had the plug in backwards. yes it did check while plugged in backwards but would only count every couple laps.

burnt speed controls were the order of the day. I got pictures of 2 bill sydor got the way off the track award when his esc got fried dayger took it out the back door and put it in the dirt outside. no popped 4600s or lipos yet. we still got 2 days of racing though.

more pictures over at www.rc50.com

Most racers are running them. The problem at big races is EVERYONE is basically sponsored by a battery/motor company of sorts. Now that Trinity/SMC are in the LIPO game, you'll see more and more people running the newer technology in outlaw rubber.

Although 13.5/10.5 popular, alot of die hards are still faster with brushed 19t

sponsored or not think about it from a company standpoint....

sub-c's you have to zap them label them...match them....box them ect...
lots of work

lipo....put a sticker on and sell, super easy...so there should be more profit since it doesnt take 10 people to do all the sub c voodoo
and there for the company's would wanna push that product, BUT they still have to win at the races....so they are going for what is FASTER

as for outside....guess we will just have to wait and see....when they lower the weight limit is when more people will start using them at the national level....

The track does flow pretty well. However, with that being said, If you look at the 1/12 scale chassic on RC50.com, yep you'll find my 19 turn car that I manged to get Graphite to do a Z bend at the front body mount. I've had to build a new car for round #3.

Good point for sure, but the industy is still wrapped around C-cells. Matchers, dischargers, chargers, and accessories. The big test will be at Vegas this year. I hear its going to be all brushless/lipo.
