I know you need your ball diff to be as stiff as possible on a M-03 to avoid wheelspin while cornering.. but how about the M-04? Does it need to be tight or loose?

My m03 diff is locked and the wheels still spin through the corners due to weight transfer everyone I run with uses pretty much the same setup and experiences the same thing

you mean hop? mine hops a bit thru the corners.

no the inside wheel literaly spins under power from the weight transfer during cornering

For the M04, i would suggest building it as per the instructions. I made the mistake of using a stiff diff and was having lots of problems on carpet during the tamiya asia cup race last year. The tail swings and snaps during cornering and after i rebuild the diff flushing out the AW grease, the problem was solved. Have yet to test it on outdoor tracks but i guess it should work well too.

Anybody looking to sell a hopped up mini? I have been looking at them for a while, and just spent about 4 hours reading through this thread. Figured this would be the place to ask as well :) Thanks!

Go to Northwest For Sale, there are 2 that I have seen personally. They are both fully hopped up, and almost new.

are the aluminum Tamiya mini cooper shocks different from there regular tc shocks?

danjoy25 03-28-2006 03:06 PM

Alloy shocks used in mini's are the same the tourers but with spacers inside to limit travel as per guide: http://www.tamiyausa.com/articles/fe...?article-id=12
