lower roll center !!

Team Ash 04-04-2009 02:11 AM

M05

Just 1 question. When?

tony gray 04-04-2009 02:11 AM

Ooh Leo, I actually don't think that's the case.

Strictly speaking, roll centre is set by the suspension and that doesn't look to have changed at all.

Maybe the Centre of Gravity is lower (is that what you mean?) but will it make it better? I dunno - yet to be convinced myself

I think they sacrificed too much to get the servo off the top. Check out the steering geometry.

Where did the magazine scans come from? Does this magazine have a website that we can translate like the obsessive nerds that we are to glean every scrap of information possible?

To be brutally honest, the car doesn't really excite me all that much.

It's fairly obviously just a 'quick fix' to enable the fitment of a wider range of bodyshells because the M03 still has severe limitations in that area as we all know.

And the lack of room for electronics is really bad and will be a huge pain in the ass. I'll be interested to do a corner weighting test on it too like I did on the M03. I suspect the balance will be significantly different, and not necessarily better either.

Don't be fooled by the 'Pro' tag. It's a fairly common trick Tamiya use to indicate a chassis sold as just that, a chassis. i.e. no body.

Yeah I'll still get one, no problem there at all. But given the opportunity I cant say I'm not disappointed that they didn't go in a different direction.

i feel you on that :) just like the "R" bling with no body and no free esc lol

and you're correct. with all the other stuff that doesn't make this chassis very good with the rear servo and no room for the esc ect we all want one :)

Interesting...but like most others have said, I agree that the changes are minimal. On the bright side, looks like you can mount more lower profile bodies now...like the HPI 240Z. :D

Cool F104 too!

With the servo that far back, bet it pushes like a 65 El Dorado.....M03 for me.
