Mini + lead + lipo = what the...?

I finally got hold of a digital scale today, and have been weighing my m03. Now, my m03, with a body (that's got some reinforcing) that weighs over 70g, an Orion 2400 and some lead, my car weighs in at 1215g.

I've got lead flashing (about 20g) stuffed in the front bumper, two 7g weights in the back section of the chassis and lead flashing (about 85g) attached to the bottom of the battery.

Even with the NiCAD the car only weighs in in the low 1300s.

I've calibrated the scale using known weights and it's dead accurate.

So, anyone have any thoughts about this? I thought minis with nicads/nimhs were supposed to weigh in at around 1350 minimum.

Jim

I assume your Mini is all plastic so that keeps it light.

And Nicads/Nimh all weigh differently depending on what capacity they are

We run 4600 with weight around 14++..... however when we run lighter weight, the car tends to traction roll.... any suggestions?

Thanks.

Keen on getting hold of one of these again?

Word is that another production run has just finished, and stocks of the blue-plated version will be in store in around 2 weeks.....

How many M03's do you need? I've got at least 4 that run, and another 15 maybe that don't....

Those Xpress Radials will be excellent at Mini 50 Shan. I run them each week at Radical on the carpet there.

Blue chassis? Ha! If you win Mini 50 you'll get a REAL chrome one (the last one left) as 1st prize...

Jim,

That sounds at least close to me. My Swift with 3600 NiMh stick pack and a body with a fair amount of paint (and reinforcements ) weighed in at just over 1400g. Now with an orion 2400 Lipo and a WHOLE bunch of weight (I lost track of how much I added but likely more than the 112g you indicated) it weighs in at 1350g.

If it handles good at 1215g I wouldn't complain!

Cheers,
Mike
