Hi Mango, actually, most of us here are running the silver cans. They're lasting from 1 to 3 years. That's practice nights and racing every week.
So, with the silver can, the stock speedy is fine. It can and does win races against cars equipped with higher dollar units. With the silver cans it's definitely about the driving more than anything else. Jim |

I know the shorter spring set will have a different lb'age for the standard springs, it was just that the 2 other spring sets 53163 & 53440 I needed the info on. Now 53440 has the extra stiff spring along with the normal red, yellow & blue springs :nod: Now my question is are the red, yellow & blue springs from 53440 set rated the same lb'age as the red, yellow & blue springs from 53163? or is the 53440 set called On-Road Turned Hard Spring Set because of the extra pair of extra hard spring that are included? |

I suggest having atleast a dozen different tire combonations with you at every track. Why you ask? Well weather is never the same and niether is track traction also when you travel to different tracks like us socal guys tracks are always different. So when your car in the morning is dialed come the afternoon you might be loose or have a push and thats when a simple tire change from stiff to soft or soft to medium can make all the difference in the world. Here is what I usually have with me when I go racing.
60 D Tires with tamiya rims: No insert HPI low bounce insert HPI med bounce insert HPI double stuffed foam/foam insert HPI Foam and blue hard insert = HARD HPI Foam and green insert = Stiff HPI Foam and red insert = Medium HPI Foam and yellow insert = Firm Tamiya Super Grip Radials: No insert HPI foam insert HPI double stuffed Foam/Foam insert HPI Double stuffed Foam/Blue insert All of the colors above are HPI sedan inserts and I run the HPI foam insert against the tire then the regular foam that would contact the rim and beleive it or not I don't cut the sedan insert down it takes a liitle bit of finess but you can get it in there. The advantage is that it gives you a taller tire which = Higher Top speed for big tracks. |

Im going to order a new MO3M on the weekend and was just wondering does it come with plastic shocks or oil filled, if so do these shocks work well on the race track?
