Sounds like Good News for you guys Tony!

I would'nt mind seeing this brushless system allowed for our club here in Hawaii!

Has anyone tried the 35 amp or lower esc in this combo? If so how does it run?

Works fine..

When they become legal here it will only be for the FULL SYSTEM. It wont be the motor alone thats legalised, people will need to buy the full system - 3000kv motor/35a, or the 3000kv/25a.

Considering most people spend more than the $100+ (Aus) price on an ESC alone, these systems are a bargain.

None at all Bob. Just a bigger margin of safety. Driveability and performance is exactly the same.

Tony ,
So does that mean you will allow the 60A ESC as well as it also can be bought as a combo with the 3000kV motor?

No...otherwise we'll end up with the situation that you're already well aware of - People moaning and grizzling because
'You've got a better ESC and that's why you're faster'
We both know it isn't true, but....

So (my intention at least) is to limit the ESC's to the 25 or 30 only. Simple - easy.

It probably won't, and it'd be a complete waste of time anyway. There's so much slop in all the parts of an M03 thats there'd simply be no point to doing it!

Calvin.

Mahalo's for all the info Tony!

Knowing the performance is pretty equal between the esc's is what I wanted to hear.

Hi guys,

Im looking to get one of these to race at our local tracks. I was told to get the M03R but recently notice there is the M04... What is the difference between these? Which one of these is better for racing?

Thanks for any help...

M03 - Absolutely without question. 99.9% of people use them.

As for which one, read this

A higher rated ESC is always going to be more efficient and last longer than a lower one. Don't forget a light that burns half as bright burns for twice as long

A higher amp esc is going to have more/bigger mosfets therefore the internal resistance will be lower, resulting in less heat and less wear on the speed control.

Will it make any difference on a mini? doubtful.

I've got a $300 ESC in my mini (I got it in a box of other parts, don't shoot me) and I'm still just a solid B main driver. Hasn't made me any faster. Car doesn't do anything that it didn't do before.

I've got a $30 ESC in my Mini (The guy only wanted $30 for it, so don't shoot me), and I'm still a solid A-Main contendah at the regional level. Hasn't made me any slower. Car does everything it did with the $300 ESC I lost when I sold some guy a box of parts...
