So confusing when Chinese manufacturers start using Japanese names. You'd think it might be from Japan but they aren't. Better yet, I didn't know MuchMoreRacing was Japanese.

At least we have product support from everyone. :)

Really? Maybe I was wrong. I saw an actual Japanese address and .co.jp URL on their product label, so thought they were from Japan.

Although they do seem to have a .co.jp address link on the english site... no idea.

You're right, thanks for the clarification! I'm okay either way. :D

Hi all,

Having a fun night in a few weeks, series finishes so just a hoot about kinda night. I've got a Team Orion 11x2 in my box that I'll throw in.

On carpet running 60D M Grips, I'm guessing I'll need the 16t pinion?

Cheers!

With an 11 turn motor? Yes! Not sure if there's Enough fans in the world to cool that mess down.

First race day of the season on Sunday. Slapped an M03 together, just because I missed it and I have the Xevo M03 conversion geared to 4.3. Should be fun. I wish the giant 30t pinion I ordered had arrived. That'd put me at 3.4!

Just a follow up on my 21.5 brushless hunt, I received my ThunderPower the other day for my SabreFD Mini, it is so much smoother and higher reving than the ReedySonic Mach2. Even at the factory 20 degree advance I am happy with the speed. I will definitely stay away from Sonic Mach series unless I'm going to run them on my offroaders. It has a lot of torque.

Should be getting my Vulcan 21.5 later in the week for my V2 will try with GTB3, also have a Juststock XR10 in house to try on a M03. I got good results with the XR10 + Sonic setup on my CupRacer. I like the HobbyWing's ProgramCard. It works like my Novak Wizard from back in the day..

I'm starting to get a little more caught up on the technology now, maybe at around 2013.. more to try..

Speaking of cooling fans, what's the fan of choice to keep the temps managable

(0000000000) 09-13-2015 10:58 AM

The sonic2 and vulcan are considered "torque" motors. The new trinity d4 motors seem to be the next big thing, with oodles of power on both ends of the spectrum.

Kinda like comparing the old reedy Rage (rpm) and trinity p2k (torque), and then the monster stock comes out and makes both look silly.

Oh is that right... That make sense then. I had no idea where to start, so that is why I bought the Reedy, but noticed it is not smooth at lower rpm at all and torque comes suddenly. On a 4WD chassis it is fine, but the abrupt power made it very difficult to control my FWD m-chassis.

I'm real happy with the Thunderpower motors. :) Runs cool, good RPM, very smooth, and sensor wires come out perpendicular to the endbell.

As for cooling fans, I've had good luck with MuchMoreRacing's 30x30 and 25x25, also Novak's 25x25 are also good.

If you really want to go nuts, the Windy series from WTF are good, and pricey. http://www.wildturbofan.com/#!windy-/c1zlg

If you want good, but cheap, eBay search for "30mm 6v high speed fan"

Thanks guys will look around
