You could replace the dogbone with universals, then they can't fall out. The 3racing ones are less than $15.

Hi folks, it's been awhile. The health issues I have are a little complex, but the short form is that I came down with one of the many forms of cancer and have spent the last 6+ months with tests and chemo therapy. Frankly, this crap really put me down on my ass for awhile. I try to answer every PM, but if I missed yours, my apologies. My last scan was clear, so no more chemo for 6 months, so should be gradually getting better.

In any case, I'm still feeling a little "rocky" and it'll be some time before any trips to the track are contemplated. From what little I've read, it seems like the new car is giving people some trouble. I thought it would cause, the "improvements" the Tamiya folks came up with, would cause a lot of people to chase their tails, trade set ups, and get themselves totally "screwed up".

Looking forward to "working" with the new car. Just remember, if a car is loose, there are specific reasons for this. Same for a push or a lack of corner speed. Asking someone who doesn't drive at your track, won't always get you closer to the desired solution. Sometimes asking someone at your own track won't give you any answers either. Do your own testing once you get a basic knowledge of what does what.

Anyhow, it's good to be back and let's see how may people I can piss off this time around. After what I've gone through, I'll probably care less about that, than I used to.

Bob! Great to "see" you here! I feel your pain, my friend. I've been in hospital a lot this year and have missed out on some fun. Glad to discover that we're both still here and ready to piss people off. It's kind of like my other hobby.

I can't figure out why anyone's having trouble with the V2. I stuck the same setup on it I had on my V1 and it's even better. Red springs up front, blue at the rear, S Grips all around, shocks at "around" 55mm, shorty pack off set slightly right...it's awesome! This is coming from a guy who truly hated the original M05. I'm at the point now where I've stopped even considering an M03 as a back up car, mostly because I don't want to spend any money on stick packs, even if they're cheap.

Anyway, it's great to see you're still kickin. Thanks for the update!

A couple of questions when using this upright and C-hub on the M05 - the C-hubs are slightly taller as you mentioned, would it alter the geometry at all? What about the steering links, would i have to use spacers perhaps to lessen bumpsteer? The stock M05 has a lot less bumpsteer, something they've improved a lot from the M03.

I ask because i still have this from an old M03 and would like to use it.

I haven't noticed much difference while driving. The mounting points at the top and the bottom of the C hub are identical. The length of the upright may be a little different. I'm sure you can compensate by adjusting the length of the ballstud.

I haven't tried running these on my M05, but I'm sure you can make them work.

For me, it looks like the post office lost my spring set I wanted to try on my M05. :cry: Tracking stopped back on 3/11, no further updates. I asked the store if they would please send me a replacement, I was ignored. :rolleyes:
