Fair thats funny. I heard about guys running "stock silver cans" blowing by guys like they were sitting still. Had a low turn out last year because of the bs that went on at the 2011 TCS race. I myself look forward to running a TCS race just hope that the black cloud form 2012 doesn't show it's ugly head this year.
Please, I am not calling the veracity or the sincere intentions of those from whom you've heard these stories into question. I'd suggest for your first TCS race to treat it as a learning experience, have fun, and make new friends. I still go, even tho the only chance of my winning is, if a lightning bolt hits all the other drivers on the stand. Spend much of my time visiting with friends I only see once a year.
This post's only intention was to be helpful and to encourage your participation in a TCS race. If you interpret it in any other way, you have my apologies.
PS visit the Silvercan Tips/Tricks thread in this forum. Many helpful tips on the care and feeding of Silvercan motors.

Curious why you would even think of going to a race where you are convinced people are "cheating". Just saw the last few of you 2 guys posts. Man, I sure hope that you don't pit near anyone. With that attitude, maybe it'd be better for you to stay home.

Sure, let's do that someday. Bring your Mini to the Nationals and leave the everyone is cheating attitude home and you'll have a good experience. You probably won't win anything cause a lot of these guys have been doing the Mini thing for years and have tons of race wins. But, who knows. You might.

Back to minis, and yes you are right that weight is a big factor here... My mini is 1215grams ready to race, but my buddy's m05 is only 1218grams but with much a much lighter esc/wire/rx combo... He posted a 14.5second lap compared to my 14.8sec.......

A group of us has been running minis on a weekly basis at West Coast RC, La Mirada. Come out if you can (Thursdays).
I'm a newbie..On my M05 I ran M grip radial with hard insert in front and s grip radial with soft insert for rear. Chassis is medium. I was having grip problem where my rear was loose. I switch the tires from front to rear and it hooks up. Weird, but it works..LOL

My mistake, the weights I posted are for using heavy Tamiya 2400 nicads
With lipo, my M05 is 1235gm. With lipo, my M03 will be still much lighter than my M05.
And to get more weight forward, have to add more lead weights to the M05 (bumper, gearbox) than I would have for an M03.

I have lots of wires running around, a glitch buster capacitor, a lrp v7.1 esc(with capacitor), and heavy futaba rx, and still far from the 1250gram minimum weight. If I were tomodernize my electronics, I could hit 1160grams...
You guys don't use the 1250g minimum weight rule?
Being lighter and able to control how the weight is distributed is an advantage, but everyone racing should be at the minimum weight. Running light is definitely an advantage. 50g light is 4% that can make a huge difference in acceleration and top speed.
