Looking at rc-mini, they recommend anti-wear grease on the TA03 ball diff. Can I use something like Amsoil synthetic grease?

The thing about the traction compound (Jack, Sticky Fingers, SXT) is that it's essentially camping stove fuel/naptha/an oil product, so it's going to make your tires slimy for the first few laps and mess up the track, too. Your track probably has a rule regarding wiping tires down before you place them down. If it doesn't, suggest it. This stuff won't help lay down a groove, it'll just make the track nasty. (sounds like it may be too late!) If you wipe the tires down, they'll warm up and gain traction a little sooner and won't pick up so much crap. They'll also feel more consistent through your run, especially when combined with a planted back end. For the servo saver, I'd suggest one made by Kimbrough. They're damn near bombproof and will last much longer than the wonky, random L/R Tamiya ones. You may have to drill your own hole in it for the ball stud, but it's worthwhile. I'd suggest the large or x-large heavy duty model. I hope this helps you out. Jim Jon |
New wheel bearing treatment
I replaced some older wheel bearings with a new set in my M05. Although they are smooth, they aren't very free spinning. I've heard of guys blasting out the grease and just using a light minimal lube. How does one do this?

it dose look alot like the ABC Grid, other then some carbon fiber goodness, they look the same. So dose this car perform that well that Kyosho would buy into/or rip off ABC's fwd chassis?

Just wondering what internal spacers are you running on the M05 shocks? Right now I am running the CVA shocks but I think I have the thickest spacer and I think that might be too thick with no droop.

The Super Mini CVAs build up to 56mm with the long plastic spacer (which is 6mm), you can try building the shocks up with different spacers inside, or unscrewing the shock bottoms a little. I don't like a zero droop (or even pre-loaded) setting as I find it makes the car edgy and a bit more prone to initial traction roll. |
Can I get a starting shock oil recommendation for three hole pistons (m05) and high grip carpet? (spec tamiya tires)
