Hi guys,

Got another question for you Mini experts.

I'm building the shocks for my M-05 PRO, I'm using the #54000 M-Chassis Shocks.

My question is how do you set droop in these shocks? Do I use rubber o-rings or are there proper plastic spacers? And I assume that whatever I use to adjust droop is placed between the piston and the bottom of the shock body?

Thanks for any help you can give.

Yip that is correct. Use the black ones and not the clear silicon ones.

I initially built mine as per the instructions with the single O ring but noticed bad tyre wear after a couple of meetings...especially when using Tamiya type A's. grip was good though. I found out from one of my fellow racers that by adding an additional O ring this would reduce the wear. Grip was probably the same and in some cases slightly better.

I run my setup as per the instructions with standard front plastic camber link

Hi, thanks for the info. Did you put an additional O-ring on all four shocks or just the rear shocks?

id only suggest this if you are using the larger diameter tyres, like what Joe has mentioned.

otherwise you may struggle to get enough ride height when using the smaller 55mm wheels.

Gens Ace Batteries

Thanks for the battery info. Ive been waiting for the venom 4000 to come back into stock for over a month now. I have a M05.......will that battery work with the stock battery holder? Or do I need to get the quick release battery holder?

gtfour93 05-27-2011 09:13 PM

If this is what you're talking about, then it should fit fine, but I remember adding 2 small collars on the motor side, to accomodate the length of a Li-Po stick pack. The quick release battery holder is just a little more convenient to use.

Thanks gtfour93 for the help and the pic. What motor are you running?

gtfour93 05-28-2011 11:07 AM

It's a Hobbywing EZRUN 35A ESC & 13T motor combo.

My new MO5M Shun body shell. This sits lower than the Tamiya Swift and Ride WRX STI body. Has good steering and stability. The wing is included with the shell.

With a little bit of work around the wheel wheels this would fit a LWB mini. I might try that on my next shell.

I have also added one from my Porsche 356 for my MO5S.

Later,

Calvin.

Nice looking bodies! Is the 356 a Team ABR body? Nice chrome detail on the Porsche.

Porsche 356

Sydewynder,

Yes it is. I compared it to my sealed Kawada kit and there are some noticeable differences between the two shells. I am very happy with the paint job Jeff did on the 356. It looks way better in the flesh. I will post photos once i have cut it out and mounted on my MO5 Short.

Later,

Calvin.
