Tamiya Ta06

I prefer this on internal gears, not the diff gear:
but it keeps disappearing so I end up using a micro amount of White Lightning

The car running nicely now that I have plugged in the sensor wire and changed to 64P gears.
I am running
100T spur / 43T pinion : 5.04:1 The car is much more lively and fun to drive.
nice acceleration and what appears to be good top end, although since I haven't been to the track I cannot tell.
My 17.5 from KO seems to be doing great, its only running at 89deg F. This was running the car with not body (but I figured it would be the easiest way to test the temp? the KO esc is cool temp wise. This makes me think I can probably go up a few more teeth on the pinion and get down to 4.5:1 OR I should I get a smaller spur?
I finally changed to HPI X pattern tires and some +3 offset wheels. The track width is 190mm (with tamiya 5mm hex hubs). I guess in a touring class with spec tires and wheels which are usually 0 offset, you need to use different hex hubs to get the offset you need?
Either way, not I just need to redo the wiring install transponder and I am ready for some racing.

Now if your new car is a handful for you then you will probably get better lap times keeping the slower gearing because of better consistency but you will def need to gear up as your skill level improves.

2 things, any answers to my cable conundrum?
and do you think most of these carbon conversions can take standard NiMH stick batteries?

tires question
I have been racing this chassis since Sept and I really enjoyed it. but recently something about this car has been bothering me.
i noticed the tires wear out in unequal rate. the rear tires wear a lot faster than the front tires because this is such a rear end heavy car. the difference is so big that if i rotate the tires, i would have to change the car's setup every time to compensate. if i don't rotate the tires, when the rear tires wear out completely, i would have to change all four tires at once to maintain balance.
It's definitely not a speed issue. i have no problem with the speed of the car. it's just that i have to change tires more often than other drivers. and i am on a budget like many others here.
so help this newb out guys. how do you deal with the uneven tires wear for the TA06?
