Tamiya Ta06

Never had a kingpin fall out from any car that has the TA/TRF suspension components.
Make sure you thread the new components first with the screw before actually installing and tightening it on the car, and not to strip it / tighten it too much.

Ok, I just drove mine on the concrete(driveway) and I am with the stock 68t sput and a 25 t pinion. A few q's....
The gear mesh between the spur/pinion is VERY noisy.
The spur is a 68t but it is a LARGE spur. I have a 66t, superquiet from robinson racing, but it is about 3/4" too small in diameter! the motor wont even come close.
My Tekin esc also got rather warm after about 10 or so min outside(it was about 95* with tons of humidity here in FL yesterday at 6pm.) I wasnt running it that hard... anyone have this issue also with this ESC?
What spur gears do you guys run to keep the noise down or what modifications can be made to make it less noisy? Could it be because the spur/pinion is a mismatch? Theyre both 48p, but the diameter may play a role in it. Theyre some pinions/Spurs I had left over from my yokomo drifter and they never made this much noise before. Any clues?(pinions are 48p HotRacing Titanium 23t-30t)

The 66t you say being 3/4" smaller I assume is 64dp? 66t 64dp I think is way too small for this car. Using 64dp spur and pinion will operate quieter if it is meshed properly.

Tamiya kit supplied spur/pinion is metric, it may seem to mesh with 48dp but it is not the same. And if you mix them it will not mesh properly and be noisier.

Also... Some research has led me to the following parts:54137(rear knuckle alum) from tamiya. same factory plastic part # for tb03D, this is the alum replacement.

hmm.... its 48p. ill take/post pix once I get home. That may also be where the extra heat may be coming from also. It can be friction caused....

the tamiya spur and pinion are NOT 48dp. It's their own pitch, 0.6......

If you get something in the high 90's or 100+ in 64dp pretty much any aftermarket spur/pinion will fit. Majority of centre holes should be the same (the part that goes thru the shaft/mount)

overdrive/underdrive
hello guys,
does anyone know if the TA06 has option larger & smaller mid pulley or front diff pully to create overdrive ( front wheel turn a bit faster than the rear wheel ) or underdrive ( front wheel turn a little slower than the rear wheel ) usually option pulley has 1 slot more or less than the standard pulley.
few kits has this option feature like TA03 , LOSI JRXS as far as i know.

A different belt is definately needed.

I would love to see some CF shock towers available soon. I was hoping my 05Rs would work, but it would be a major hack job and not worth it. oh well, hopefully soon.
