motor mount has a slight advantage if you want more steering it does move the motor forward 2mm and is much easyer to get motor out

The Hara Edition seems like it has more advantages, but its also $100 more. Why is everyone saying that the Pro-4 is for carpet and the Hara is for asphalt?

Cool Titanium CVD Project

Titanium CVD project update...

It's not going well with my friends machine shop. I stopped in today to see if they had worked on the CVD's. Instead, they came up with ways to re-engineer the drivetrain. *#%$#@* engineers!

I'll keep trying. In the meantime, I'm making a modern art piece out of my bent CVD's.

That's hilarious! I almost fell out of my chair when I read that... But what can you do? They are engineers. You should have just brought the bone in and said, "Do this in titanium, now." But I'm curious. What were their ideas on the drivetrain?

wouldn't it be just easier to buy the Ti cvds?
Square makes them a direct replacement.

Default Son of Titanium CVD Project

wouldn't it be just easier to buy the Ti cvds?
Yea, zombies, I'm with ya. I've already ordered 2 sets. I approached these guys, 'cause they discard or recycle enough titanium in one day to supply all of us with a couple sets of CVDs. All I can say is that they are a US Navy defense contractor. There's just no way I could have snuck something onto the production floor without the managers and engineers knowing about it. Hell, I wrote the software that alerts them to changes in machine queues and manufacturing schedules.

But I'm curious. What were their ideas on the drivetrain?
These guys were on the path to the bone type axles found in something like the HPI Sprint. It's already been done, but they don't know that. The difference in size and weight of the two CVD axle ends had them rubbing their beards.

I just grabbed my chassis, and let me friend know that if he wanted his business name on my car, then it was going to cost him some titanium CVDs!

what do you mean square makes them a direct replacement?

also isnt it true that the ti-racing cvd's use a difference axle than the mip cvd's, meaning that you have to use ti-racing axles with ur ti-racing bones?
also im just guessing here, but if the axle and bone are different then you probably can't use mip cvd rebuild kits with the ti-racing setup...correct?

What kind of gearing are you guys using for stock? I'll end up going with 48pitch as I already have all my pinions.

I have P2K and a Monster. I might run a little mod with 13 turn as we have a pretty small track.

Thanks for the help.

Square makes 2 different Ti axles for the pro4. standard CV's that is found in other kits. and another that is MIP compatible. and does not require the use of Ti axles...

The tracks might be different but there is a decent starting point to gearing. I know that. And the only guy thats at the track with one runs 64 pitch.
