I was just at RC Champ today, and they had a couple in stock... Don't think you will be able to to get it outside of Japan just yet as it only came out over the weekend! I could be wrong though.

Hi,

A friend gave me a HI-IQ JR whose discharge function no longer work. I know there's no support anywhere else for the charger anymore so I was planning to try and fix it myself. I'm just puzzled with jumper wire installed in place of a resistor. I don't know whether the unit's already tampered so ...

Can anybody tell me what's the resistor values that should be in mounted instead of the jumper wire? I don't want to waste FETS if possible because of that jumper wire.

Sorry for hijacking the thread but I believe the few remaining VIctor Charger owners are in this thread
Thanks!
That jumper wire looks to me as used as a sense resistor for maybe the discharging unit. High Amp resistors (called shunts by the electronic guys) are made this way but it´s the cheap solution. Professional made shunts look different but are expensive. I´m not really shure but this jumper wire and it´s solderpoints look like overheated or burned. Maybe that´s the problem. But you can´t tell too much just from that picture. Also you can´t change the jumper wire that easy as working in this area could result in high amp changes. There should be a closer look from an electronic technician.

The Futaba still lacks motor run in. I think that is a major necessity when you talk high end ultimate charger.

Picked up a Futaba CDR5000 yesterday.. Quite a nice little unit, still trying to decipher what i can from the Japanese manual!
I am yet to charge any batteries on it, just charging my 3PK at the moment.
As for motor run-in, i have a Pulsar competition and a Motor master (V.3) to do that for me..

Snoopy: RC Champ have no more in stock either.. Either do many shops here in Tokyo, it seemed to be a popular item yesterday!!..

other than a fresh new look to a charger I dont see the appeal of the Futaba charger over the turbo 35 GFX. The GFX does more for less money.

I wonder why companies like Tekin and Victor went out of business. I was shocked when I got back into R/C and found Tekin was no more.. shocked.. and then I found out about Victor? I was like $#^#$&
