I have a Reedy 1s and a receiver pack that is mounted in front of the servo in the small space there.

Thinking about upgrading ESCs. If I do, I'm going to get an LRP SXX. Do you guys run these by any chance? I currently have the Speed Passion Stock Club, and trying to fit everything in is proving to be difficult. If I get a Stock Spec SXX, I don't believe I'll have to run a Rx pack or a regulator.

I have'nt ever tried the SXX I run the Tekin RS with a TQ booster, nice small footprint on the esc and booster. I posted a pic of my setup a page or so back, other than my wires its a tidy and well balanced setup.

Almost every BMI drivers run SXX here in Sydney include me.
When I raced DB12RR, I was using SXX Stock spec V2. Now with Copperhead we run SXX V2 (same size except cooling fin). No need for rec pack or booster, very easy to change set up. We run mod, not sure how it goes in spec race.
Here’s pic of my CH12 when I first build itwith NFE. Motor wires and sensor wire don’t go though pod like in pic. I thought it will be nice and tidy when I first build it, till I try to fit tires.

I would run Tekin, but I can get an LRP for a lot less.
H I- which LRP speedo would you recommend, then? SXX V2?

Sorry I got confused, I was using V1 SXX Stock spec Mk3 in DB12RR. I’m getting V2 for WGT. Mk3 was still same size.
If you are getting LRP, ESC to get for mod will be V2 SXX. It’s smooth and you’ll get better run-time with it compare to Mk3.
If you going to run Spec race, get V2 SXX Stock spec as it has more crazy timing set up. But some people say Hobbywing or Tekin is faster for spec race. I can’t prove that, as I don’t race spec. If I need more power I just bolt on bigger motor. Stock spec was fine using 4.5 motor.
I use to use Tekin but I hated recharging rec pack and setting it was very confusing.
With LRP I can change setting in 10sec with out laptop.

I doubt I'll run anything over a 13.5 in my DB12. I'm only running carpet, so I don't need that much power. If I'm only running a 17.5 and 13.5 (mainly 17.5), should I get the Stock Spec V2 then?

Spec racing expert might say other brand is better, but running wide on corner by foot or wrong set up on your car going to cost more time than difference in ESC performance(when both set up to optimum for the track) in my opinion.
You already got great car to drive, get your self ESC that give you more time to work on driving/set-up. When car is working well you’ll have more fun, and isn’t that why we play with these cars?

I won’t say you “Should” but looks like LRP V2 stock spec is right ESC for you.

The main reason that I'm going with LRP, is because I can get one cheap(ish). I'm by no means an excellent driver or anything. I have only raced off-road Short Course (box stock), Stock Truck, and Mod Buggy, so on-road will be quite different for me. The electronics don't really matter to me. I have the Speed Passion Stock Club race, but I feel that that is one upgrade that would give me more options to help make me a better driver.
