The pics are rough, but this is how I'm gonna try the lipo. The battery will be taped in, and the receiver pack will taped to the battery. Wiring in the Deans plug really sucked and will take some getting used to, but it seems to all fit under the body. The receiver battery on the side helps balance the chassis, I still have to mount the transponder up in front of the servo too.Tomorrow night I'm going to try it.

As a note, you have to take the battery position bracket out of the car so that this battery will fit low enough to clear the shock. I made some aluminum "feet" that I shoe gooed into the battery slots to position this battery. Jason, you may want to fiddle with something like that. I don't have the time to make 100 of them, so consider that idea a gift.
Thats pretty awesome. I will hopefully have a lipo pack shortly. I will work on a locator.

looking for some advice. i am going to put a 19t checkpoint into my db12r and i am wondering what changes should i make in setup from the 27t.
the track surface will be carpet(club level) low traction early and higher traction later rough surface.

currently: angled servo, -1* camber, 1* out toe, 5* blocks 1 washer front and back, 30 weight, silver(?), thick sticks, 4 front 4 middle 4.5 rear 1 pod droop, lilca front white rear, batteries back, 42mm front 44mm rear(?)might be 44mm&46mm, shur lube 3 in tubes, ....
this was easy to drive others tried it out and said it was slow.

I just added the DB12RR and DB10RR rear pod conversion kits to the BMI web store. These just update the rear pod not the main chassis and are a great way to update your car for not a lot of $$

After getting my conversion kit and seeing the length difference in the rear pod it brought a question to mind...does the pod only conversion have the same length pod as the DB12R so the wheelbase stays the same?

No it will make the wheelbase 1/8" longer with the old main chassis.

So I'm guessing the new main chassis is shorter?

Its not shorter. Things were moved on it to maintain the balance of the car and the standard wheelbase.

How/where does it get the additional 1/8"? I just ordered it but I still have the original 12r pod bulkheads; will this be a problem to bolt onto the new lower and top plates?

wow, thats interesting. I dont have the guts to start racing at 360 now, because it feels intimidating. I bought my stuff a month before, and now im already at a disadvantage with my brushed setup and nimh

We are all friendly at 360. We will get you up to speed. The Brownie's Hobbies crew has some dialed set ups for 360. I have a set-up, but I am taking a break from 1/12th until LiPo is figured out. With brushed and NiMh, you will actually be at an advantage. Brushed is lighter, and if you rebuild frequently and have a good motor, you will be much faster than a 17.5. LiPo in 1/12th still has is flaws IMO.

The main chassis plate is shorter but the complete chassis is the same length.

Chris
The lower pod plate is longer to give more room in the pod and improves the rear suspension geometry. So adding just the new pod to the original chassis will lengthen the wheelbase. The new chassis keeps the original wheelbase with the new pod.

So does the DB10R have the same geometry advancements of the DB12RR? Or is there going to be a new DB10RR coming out soon?

My track is starting to ponder some WorldGT action and I figure since I already have a 12RR, might as well get a BMI 1/10th chassis.
