3racing make some good hotups for this car, I have the chassis kit and suspension mounts in graphite, they also do front and rear toe blocks etc, but I would stick to tamiya / TRF stuff for the shocks and centre one way if you choose to upgrade

isn't still RC mart cheaper than US prices?
like i said previously, my LHS stocks AE, HPI, HB, Losi for 1/10 EP stuff. but since those brands aren't offering any kits that stand out from the crowd (like the TA-05 is), i don't know what i should get still. even though my LHS doesn't stock Xray or Tamiya stuff, i will be racing in the stock class, so broken parts are not going to be much of a problem due to the lower speeds.
T2R-4 (counting T1!)
TC4-2 (counting TC3)
TA05-9 i think (wow, even though my LHS doesn't stock Tamiya parts, i should look into this one)
JRXS (if i can find one cheap)-2
Cyclone S-1

I'll give the Cyclone S some love. Mine works great. Can't compare it to a TA-05 cause I've never seen anyone run one here. At our track JRXS has some issues keeping the rear end planted. T2R works good also but more expensive than the Cyclone S in both car and parts, but very comparable performance wise. TC4's have worked well here but it is a shaft drive. Not sure if that matters and with the TC5 coming they should be cheap.

it's a great car..and i guess wait for the TA05R will be a more worth waiting for as the hop -ups in it i feel it will worth the money..

ok, just found out that my LHS carries the Tamiya brand, but they don't stock many parts at all. however, i can ask them to stock a few essential parts if i know that i might be going through them a lot (this will take some serious persuasion!). nevertheless, i can always ask them to order stuff for me at no extra cost. BUT, what if i need a part on race day, i don't have any parts on hand at the shop for me.
so, we're back to the question about parts availability, which stems from durability. my LHS stocks a lot of AE parts (TC4), Losi parts (JRXS), and probably some HB and HPI TC parts too (but they mainly stock MT and off-road stuff). the JRXS looks enticing, but the NIB price is a little high for me and i have not heard anything super impressive about the performance of it. maybe an XXX-S? the Pro 4 looks good too, but again the price is pretty high.
nevertheless, i might be able to find some used stuff that is in pretty good condition for a good price. yet, like most anyone, i would like to build it myself and have a brand new car for a brand new class for me.

For the TA05 my understanding is you just need the knuckles and hubs as backups. You would probably buy all the spares you might need for less then $50. 4 people I race with (myself included) recently switched to the TA05 from other "high end" cars. I havent raced mine yet but Ive seen others perform and I was pleasently surprised. Im hoping its as durable as everyone says. Im tired of having to replace broken parts every few runs with the RDX.
