St jerno Thanks correcting my error Now I know
Was that the new motor giving the awesome horses Herm??
Ran a quad mag 27t at the weekend, and set the fastest time overall on the Saturday race day. Funny when you can put down times faster than guys running 10's 11's and 12's
Found quite a lot of wear on the front aluminium dog bones though, must be the abuse they are getting with the one way. Car is very easy to drive, didnt get round to trying the Tamiya shocks though, will save that for practice this weekend.
Glad to see Dave is back, not too long before KO and Randman will be back too...... were just one big happy family here
Anyone tried those R3 rear hubs on the R2 like Steve suggested yet???? Any comments??
Cheers

The motor was working well, I don't think I've been brave enough on the gearing yet though. Last year my Matrix was great but it was like all the matrix motor's I've tried, it needs a fairly precise gearing to make it come alive, otherwise it would be mediocre, but i usualy got the gearing right in just a couple of runs. The Demon Chameleon has just as much power but seems "softer" I think I still need to go up one or two teeth and let it run a little hotter, I'm used to the Matrix staying very cool when working well. I also think some of the softness is more the fact that I'm not using a one way outdoors so far this season. I've decided I want to be able to outbreak people into corners to make over taking easier and avoiding crashes, I may go for a one way at some tracks though for the SMTCA.
I'm about ready to replace the front cvd's on my cuda too... also need a whole diff and various other little bits it soons adds up. Could almost do with two new diffs, I've broken two outdrives in the last few weeks. One last night when a rear turnbuckle end failed and let the hub/wheel pull the cvd out and snap the delrin had to turn the cvd 90 degrees and use the extra slots but the way it's broken leaves the extra slots weak.

Ha- i know what you guys mean. I've broken 2 diffs but unfortunately they were the same side so i can't merge the 2 good peices into one diff
Maybe we should set up an exchange program to match up our parts?
An alloy collar around the outdrive would be great for the Cuda.

Ya it figures someone would be selling some as soon as I sold my TRF tools and bought some Hudy tools.

I've actually wrapped a polyester thread around the outdrive end and superglued it in place. Very very durable. It works well, but now it's impossible to get the bearing off

Some one is telling me that the r3 has problems with the diffs and that they strip. Does the car have problems.

Nope, that's one problem that the R3 does not have. The diff gears and input gears are much stronger than other gears out there on the market. The EVOIII have the most terrible time with stripping gears. I'm beginning to hear similar things on the Pro4. But the R3 because of the gear design, does not have that problem.
