Also I am lokoing for a tire combo to try. The local track seems to be a 32 take off/stock insert tire track. I think there may be a better tire insert combo out there. The track is a med to low bite concrete large track. I know you like sorex tires and would love some info!

try Sorex 27R for the morning runs, and 32R in the afternoon. both with med inserts. Possibley HPI Green's. This works for me for outdoor asphalt parking lot racing. HPI Red soft inserts might work as well..
Just my 2 yens...
Wait for Mo to reply...he is all knowing.

Jeff, what is the normal track temp. We have not found take off 32's to work anywhere around here.
rc-zombies...lol, all knowing.
I have the shock tower designed, just have to make a couple prototypes and see how everything works. I'm going to use some 1/8" fiberglass for the prototypes, since it is much cheaper than graphite. I will probably make the finals out of 2 or 2.5mm graphite. Once I get the design finalized, I will need to find someplace that can cut a bunch of them for a resonable price. Anyone know any resonably priced machine shops?

They can supply the graphite and even the SSG. The inquired the SSG will cost and arm and a leg and more!!! 4x4 sheet was almost $400.00++++
I can draw it up in cad if you like...

rc-zombies, I already have it drawn in Auto CAD actually. That is what I do for living. I'm the drafting supervisor at and electrical engineering company. I forgot that penguin did custom work and had the graphite. I'll have to contact them when I get to that stage.
Jeff, it depends on the actual track surface temp. Up to around 100 degrees (track surface temp), I would run Sorex 28R's with Sorex Medium B inserts. 100-120 I would run Sorex 36R's with Sorex Medium B inserts (may take a lap or 2 to get up to temp, or use tire warmers). Above 120 degrees, I would run Sorex 36R's with Yokomo Firm (037F) inserts.

Hey Mo,
When you get the shock tower done, I would like to get probably 4 or 5 of them. There are a bunch of us running the car here in Colorado.
Thanks, Lee
