Car setup has allot to do with dumping. I assum Masamis car is more dialed which is why he's faster which means it's also more efficient. For the other racers to try to catch up to him they might be trying a more aggressive setup to try and get there car to be as fast.

I think 4 cell is a good idea as 6 cell was producing allot of stress on the motors and electronics. I have seen allot of motors burn up the comm or get unbalanced using 6 cells.

Last I heard they are all running 7 turns.

Also....they are not slow as stock. They are only 2-3/10th off the normal Yatabe 6 cell mod times.

most of them are using 5Ts
it's hard to make runtime with them but for masami it is possible ^^ what they are doing for runtime can be seen on photos ^^

Billy Easton said in testing a couple of months ago at Yatabe they were they with in 2-3/10ths of the 6 cell mod guys on the same layout (at that time). They have been testing all this time so I think they are a lot closer now.

its crazy to see top drivers in the world going to extremes with charging systems and still dump on 4200 when it was reported that these same drivers still had 1000mah left after each run during the last worlds.

The Worlds track was low bite with high track temps plus I think the handout tires weren't that good so this explains why runtime wasn't an issue. Another issue is that with 6 cells you have to compromise motor setup as the motor can burn up, blow a wind or get out of balance if it's wicked up to much.

As far as charging single cells it's a good thing in theory. Does it make a big difference I doubt it but when your looking for every bit of runtime it will not hurt. I think motor tuners/builders will figure it out.

One cool thing is to see Masami doing good with what looks like to be a Yokomo style motor. So much for the new style motors with round brushes and Aluminium endbells. Looks like older style motors can still get it done.
