i had heard a number of ideas for the difference in traction.. i think it was mentioned that the carpet composition was slightly different in the newer runs, but i think Frank would be the one to ask... or it could have been the temp, or O2 like EA mentioned... or maybe even the RP30, as opposed to the CS27s previously used? who can tell? i didnt really notice a problem myself, but it seems it was more prevalent on the foam tire cars...

i know it was crazy dry in there...

my theory on the location, was that yea, it was a bit of a drag being so far from the strip, but that wouldnt have been as much a problem if they had a better shuttle system in place...IMO, anyway...

what i'm thinking is if buy 10 sets of 27's and run em till say the novak race and the tire is the rp30 then I have no run time with the rp's not that traction is low the novak is super high bite so,ll in all I guess i will go with the 27's thanks

I would like thank Scotty, Boomer and the rest of the cool guys at tech for the greatest racing experiance I've ever had. I was blown away by how professional and genuinely nice their entire crew was!

I mostly had bad luck all week but I gained a ton of knowledge and am very excited to participate in next years IIC.

I don't want to hear about suicide....I had one of the worst weeks ever.
UPS not shipping or stuff on time.
All of the above health issues.
Tweaked car.
Lots of arms breaking.
A speedo nuking itself out of nowhere after 2 hotlaps, and melting the body lol
Having to rent a ride from one of your buddies to dig you out of hell...priceless!!! Thank you Nick and Jim!!!

I honestly want to consider running foam next year if the traction is gonna be as bad as it was this year. I guess I was spoiled with how well it was last year.
Oh boy, foams...Then you can race against me kiddo! That will be a good test of your new JRX-S R vs. RDX...

We can call it the IIC sponsored by Chap Stick (same problem here)...

One thing I was looking at the few times I was outside was the parking lot there was pretty smooth and would have been sweet for an asphalt race. But that is just me since that is all I can do here in UT anyhow.

That is a well worn urban legend that is nothing but a myth.. not to mention a fire hazard. I've worked in hotel and casino gaming for over 12 years, including a few years in the Life Safety and evironmental control room for a casino much larger then the South Coast. The truth is simple and obvious: The casinos spend millions of dollars on state of the art air handlers and computer controlled HVAC to keep the air smoke free and comfortable for their customers.

The air was dry but that was mostly due to the weather in the high desert of Vegas, this was especially noticable to those of us from more humid or coastal climates. I also had nose bleeds and the gift shop was sold out on chapstick and carmex so it was a common complaint.

The casino probably treated this like any other convention. When you expect a large group of 600+ people to fill a hall, you crank the AC early in the morning to chill the room in anticipation of the crowds. Next year I'm sure Scotty & crew will consult with the casino and try to maintain a more consistant temperature. I also think that the concrete floors had a lot to do with keeping the track cold, last year the room had thick wall to wall carpeting.

Myself and Peter Robinson both had the same sinus issues (bleeding, couldn't breath through your nose, etc). My lips were ok because I knew that would be a issue and I was putting chap stick on every hour. The sinus issues where not expected and very painful. I'm still recovering from that today after getting home yesterday.

Scotty/Boomer, is it possible for the hotel to turn off or turn way down the AC for next year?

can you perhaps upload the videos onto youtube? then you won't have to download any other players or codecs, and it'd be easier to distribute, i assume.
