The Xcelorin and Trinity motors I had in the car were both shaped just fine and required no dremeling to get a 118/53 in the car, but my Xcelorin is a 10.5, and the 17.5 Trinity that I borrowed from Alex last time out was busy in his Speedmerchant today... so with no prs adapter handy, this is the result...
warning: it might be a good idea to check for ROAR legality (or whatever rules are in place where you race)

Or, you can dremel the motor... Not my first choice, but with the Tekin Redline being a few mm longer and no taper at the endbell I couldn't get even close... Even dremeling the inner pin mount wasn't enough... by the time I got enough material off the pin mount to fit a 118/53, there wasn't enough left of it to hold the ball in place...

I always use the losa3018 for the diff, and they seem fine, the trick is not to over tighten them and they will last.
As for motor clearance, i just shave out the pivot block with a sandpaper wheel, and it has plenty of clearance to get the motor all the way back in the mount.

Mike-
Did you run the steering rack foreward on the top deck? was it for battery connector clearance or for the ackerman change? I have to run them foreward for connector clearence with the TrakPower Lipo's. What kind of change will I expect from the foreward and back positions of the rack on the top deck? I would imagine and little quicker and sharper steering running it foreward? Where do you run the rack for both foam and rubber? This setting is not on the setup sheets.

I always run the steering rack foward, yes it does make the steering more responsive.
