Is so you should be charging each cell @ 3.7V and 3200 mAh
If not and you where single cell balancing a 1500mAh cell then you still need the voltage set to 3.7 setting it to 1.7v could cause errors.
Are you checking the voltage with a Volt meter? Voltage checking via chargers is consistant however not 100% accurate.
If cells are out of balance and miss handled then it is possible to see a cell top out at 4.28 this is either the charger miss reading the voltage or the cell being over charged wich is damaging to the cell. Once the cells are belanced they wll not continue to top out at this voltage showing they are healthy once again. For those thinking this is a demon tweak to get more voltage you are sorely mistaken and will only destroy your cells trying to over clock them many times on the first attempt.

Thanks for the reply.
Yes I am talking about 3200 Lipo. There is a typo error, I set it @3.7V 1500mAh & I am using a volt meter to measure the voltage.
I did a discharged & charged each cell individually @ 3.7V 2000mAh. I got it balanced again, but the final voltage is only 4.1V. Is it normal?

Thanks. So far i dont know why anyone would not use these if they are allowed. No maintainence with more power. Thank you sir can i have another.

Your pack appears to close to that 90% charged range and this is why it does not begin charing at 3.2 and yes if you have a proper charger it will begin to ramp down in voltage once is gets close to fully charged.

Case problems
Just got my Race Spec 3200. Just dropped in my BK4 and when pulling it out, I noticed that one end of the case is secure while the other (where the connectors are) is not. If I wanted to, I could easily pull these apart. I thought the case was meant to protect the cells?
Is this a design feature? Is it a fluke? Can I CA that end so the case doesn't spit when I pull it out of the BK4?
This experience is not helping me convince my club to allow these after all the heated discussions I had with our members.

Just found a few posts on the split case issue in this thread. Gonna CA it.
The major concern of the "resistance" at our club is safety due to the "watch the lipo's explode" videos that are out there. This split case is probably nothing, however, it does fuel the fire of the nay sayers at my particular club. Hope this manufacturing issue gets the attention it deserves.
The pack looks good otherwise. Can't wait to run it!

I was under the impression that the split case is a design feature. If you glue the halves together you cannot tell if the cells have puffed up and it may prevent the cells from expanding in case of damage.

If you glue the case together you lose this feature. On our 4800 the decal used is a soft vinyl which will stretch easily.
Batteries are held in place on all cars with a strap or tap across the top this secures the case and allows it to be an excellent defense against damage from side impact or from being dropped or bent. Also the rounded hollow side allows for energy absorption.
We had an issue during a small production run where the cases where not porperly secured during the application of the adhesive if you have a case that the top or bottom comes loose then you can simply back to us for repair or simply apply a thin layer of good quality double sided tape and press the case back together.

Yeah, we received a few where the bottom half of the case was detached. All we did was press the cases back on and none of them have had any issues . You just have to be careful (!) that you put the case on in the right direction so that it lines up with the notch on the top part.

Thanks for the explanations for the cases.
I am looking to get a Novak cut-off.
Now I am no electrician, but there are 3 cells in the 3200, but I suspect I need the 2-cell smart stop right?
