Firstly the rotor on the mamba is too big , it's a 540 size compared to the 380 size rotors on the Novals/ LRP , thus the reason it has alot more torque and why you can overgear the crap out of it.
Secondly , CC has to sell over 2000 of the units and be supplied by two major stores . All these reasons are why it won't be approved

hmm...brushless arent as expensive as I thought they were. lets see...60 for a motor, + a lathe, + 150 for esc...or 250 for mamba set up. hmm..Since they're the same price, should I get the 7700, or stick with the 5700- for a ta-05.

i wouldnt have thought so, not with a piece of kit which is this class.

The Mamba Max is excellent even at low throttle. I have only noticed cogging when my batteries are beginning to run down and aren't supplying enough voltage, and even then the cogging is VERY minimal. For anybody that experienced the cogging issues with the Mamba 25, you will be happy to see that cogging is practically extinct with the new Mamba Max. Well worth the money!

Thanks, another question is how many profiles come preprogramed in the
esc and is the usb connection free or an optional item?

The ESC only comes with the stock settings pre-programmed. The Mamba Max doesn't have the capability to store different configurations within the ESC itself. However, you can store infinitely many configurations on your laptop as separate files and just load them up with the USB link when you want to change. It only takes about 10-20 seconds from beginning to end to link up and swap settings. The USB port is built into the side of the ESC so it is standard, and the system comes with a USB link cable in the box.

Any chance mamba's developing a sensored version?
Would the 7700 be too much for a TA-05? Should I just get the 5700?

I would recommend sticking with the 5700 for your TA-05.
