I made my own too with 2.2mm carbon, motor mount and bulkheads all retain the same 1.5mm thickness from stock. just gotta add shims on under the arm to achieve the same roll centers from stock.

This stuff reminds me how awesome the people of RCTech are. Making and innovating their own stuff. And as a machinist in my prior years I can really appreciate this. Just don't have access to the equipment anymore as I've completely changed career paths.

Thanks for the constructive comment. I figured it's been done before, I just couldn't find anyone offering it at the moment. I kept going through the Al, steel, and carbon trade matrix and the carbon just kept winning out so I made one.

With all this chassis talk I thought I'd share my steel variant... I'm making these from 1095 tempered spring steel.
I've been running it on black carpet and so far I'm very happy with performance & durability!
I'll be honest, I didn't run the car much before switching to the steel plate. With the stock aluminum plate I didn't have enough ballast to make it legal.
