I made my own too with 2.2mm carbon, motor mount and bulkheads all retain the same 1.5mm thickness from stock. just gotta add shims on under the arm to achieve the same roll centers from stock.

over gear, Dan, Scott B and 6 others like this.

They have a post on their FB page. Quite a lot of accessories, including a pretty interesting looking battery mount.

This stuff reminds me how awesome the people of RCTech are. Making and innovating their own stuff. And as a machinist in my prior years I can really appreciate this. Just don't have access to the equipment anymore as I've completely changed career paths.

those battery mounts , I’ve used on several different cars , on and off road . I’ve even made them work on cars that vigor has not made them for .

Yep. Oval car companies have been doing this since the 90s to get stiffness in different directions for tracks based on carpet/concrete and flat versus banked. Nothing new by any means.

Please share links if someone does offer this laminate orientation for their chassis.
Still the best TC chassis Ive ran on any car to date was the Rebellion. Swiss cheese alumn with brass inserts to keep weight low but they screwed in and could adjust flex with the number of screws in the chassis. I wish I could get him to make ones for the RR!

Agreed, my MMX with the Rebellion chassis was the best car I've ever had. I could never get my A800R dialed in like my MMX was.

Default Steel chassis testing...

With all this chassis talk I thought I'd share my steel variant... I'm making these from 1095 tempered spring steel.
I've been running it on black carpet and so far I'm very happy with performance & durability!
I'll be honest, I didn't run the car much before switching to the steel plate. With the stock aluminum plate I didn't have enough ballast to make it legal.

Looks awesome! Looks like great quality and finish! But the screw holes look huge on it. Im sure its an optical illusion with the picture tho!
