Mod doesn't need more battery. The weights like this lower the CoG. For stock I'd prefer the bigger battery.

Mod is overpowered as it is, you don't need a bigger battery. A lot of drivers intentionally under charge to keep the voltage down.

I could see that part. why would stock class need more battery over lower CG?

Higher sustained voltage later in the run means more power.

National champs Robbie Dodge, Mike Gee, Craig Xavier (all Marylanders) and Eric Anderson run batteries in the 6000 range for stock classes.

run a battery that gives left to right balance and run weight down the centerline to make weight for your class marcos run mod esc and needs about 240 gram battery

When I ran stock I never put weight in the middle, instead I went with a heavier battery and put the weight on the opposite side to balance out. That way gives less overall dead weight while meeting the weight limits with a bigger battery.

that's how mine is now with a 288 gram battery and weight on the motor side to balance it out, should give more roll weight transfer that way

I was thinking about getting the Sport 55 for my other half as her first car in the hobby. What do you guys recommend as option parts I get with the car or any necessary hop ups it needs? Is there anywhere in the US that sells the car and parts?

For me, the aluminum hubs were a must have. The car is way too fragile running indoors without them. I broke 3 in a 45 min span while I was learning the car and tapping the boards lightly. I also am running an xray servo saver, the factory servo horn is weak. Besides that, if I did it again I would get a krazed aluminum chassis for black carpet and carbon fiber top decks and roll with it. Maybe also get the spring kit and the sway bar kit and you should be OK. Also look at SAK-C138 and some M3 set screws, an m3 spacer kit (0.5/1/1.5/2mm).

TQRC Racing and RaceVTA have both been great to work with. I ordered my kit from TQRC and the owner helped me via email quite a bit as I worked through the spare parts and such. I highly recommend them.

I have had issues with the plastic bulkhead cover for the diffs. in light crashes in asphalt we have broken 3 already and one hub.
