XRAY X4'22 Helpful tips & setups

Tips:

Installing the hex on the driveshaft - Make 100% sure you have the flat spot lined up on the axle with the cutout in the hex as shown in the manual. If you do not do this, it will make disassembly so much harder. The flat spot is there so you can fit a flathead screwdriver in between the shaft and the c-clip to pop it off when you want to remove the hex. Also, when removing the c-clip I would recommend pointing it down into your pit mat/towel so the clip does not go flying and disappear.

Assembling the upper arms - Make sure to grease the threads on the camber screw (302640). This will make assembly and camber adjustments much easier. Also, when adjusting camber you want to make sure you hold the upper arm so it does not twist while you turn the screw.

Droop - It is important to remove the shocks. All team setup sheets will show droop settings with shocks removed. Simply detaching them from the arm will do. This is a change from how we set droop in the past.

Setups:

**If the super mods on this forum were actually right, and handled things correctly, they would not have gone back and deleted all the posts to hide things

***And since they are in the deleting mood now, they might as well go ahead and just delete all the images of the setup sheet, as originally requested via private comms.

Glad they removed the ball cup body stops for this video. Disgustingly cheap solution on a 700+ USD car. Small detail but it really annoyed me

There was no context on original post that I can see, just the pic. What am I (or X-ray lol) missing?

Plastic shims in the kit versus Alum. Arm shims, shock shims, ackerman stud shims.. It's just not acceptable at this point lol. All this amazingness in design & quality parts except no shims for you!

I was cheesed about these plastic shims when I built my 20' T4 as that was my first Xray kit coming from yokomo. I was shocked to be fair back then and even more now lol..

The kit comes with aluminum shims.

The bumper brace is shown so you can see it has 2 sets of holes.

Is a plastic diff really so bad for 5-6 minute runs? Maybe the weight savings is worth it.

Did you have to sign an NDA with Xray? You share info but no real pic?😀

Oh oh...prepare for the shit storm if there is even one plastic shim left anywhere on the kit.

I think the bumper brace thing has become kind of a running gag that people like to keep rubbing into Xray's faces about the T4'20 not having one, thereby requiring (chassis having holes for old and new arms reportedly made it a bit weak on frontal crashes) people to buy an expensive carbon fiber one (even though previous T4 and later the T4'21 had a plastic brace in the kit.) "Bracegate" on the T4'20 really was mistake by Xray.
.
I have never had (nor even heard of anyone else having) any problems with the "only plastic" diff.

Still, it's about time this kit gets released. "Early October" is already gone.

I'm pretty sure all team drivers who have the car already had to sign NDAs. I bet we won't see any unofficial pics until the official release by Xray.

You mean the video that has been posted on the previous page on this very thread?

No NDA; We are asked not to share pics of the car until a certain time. As mentioned in some other posts, there are plenty of images out there now. I can’t wait to share pics of my X4 lol
