Page 722 on this TC5 thread has some info. The mod starts a page or two before and continues a page or two after. Rick said using a RC8 servo horn gives the same feel:

Hey guys
hey i'm just curious what is the big difference between the tc5 and the tc5r.

I know I can pick up a tc5 cheap( yes cheap) but was thinking on holding out for a tc5r. or if it not much difference. i might just pick up the tc5 and get the exoctek chassas .

So any info would be great

Basic difference is the TC5R has 2mm thick carbon fiber plates and the TC5 has 2.5mm. The 2mm chassis generates more traction for rubber tire use.

So if you pick up the TC5 and the Exotek chassis then you would have specs similar to the TC5R

Hey, I was wondering if this is worth while to get, I've never been a big fan of the kit plastic one as it seems easy to pull plastic through causing the spur gear not to sit flush.

Yes well worth it. The machining and fit is perfect, no more wobbling spur gear for me.

This is the best money you can spend. All the problems caused by the unstable plastic one are gone. Since I switch to this one and robinson spurs I have never have a gearing problem anymore

I noticed that Christer uses 6 degree front caster, instead of the more standard 4 degrees - does this help to make steering feel more linear and/or give to car slowing steering repsponse?

does anyone know where to get the shocktower mounts that christer anderson uses with the vertical ballstud mount?

Rick H- i saw on page 272 or something that you said AE is considering your modded factory motor mount and bulkhead for release. is this still being considered?
