I was verry happy with my TOP. Never hathbig problems and the car was always good.
Sorry to hear that. I have a TOP that I've been trying to sell if you want it. I bought it from another racer that comes by my local shop once in a while and its his old car. I haven't ran it since I bought it, didn't have the time to.

There's a picture of the new car on RedRC: http://www.redrc.net/2008/08/top-rac...rp-afp-series/

Any news on the release date and UK price for this car?

Hey guys....

Just back from ACT and managed to rack up another win for the scythe (scythe 1-2 for mod)... Car was very good to drive and fast with minimal effort so I thought I would post the setup for others to try....

I started the weekend with kit springs and they seemed ok so I stuck with them but I would recomend something harder (up to about 20lbs) if you run larger tyres and also remove some of the droop too. I also ran a stiffer swaybar in the rear to offset the under steer of the dodge 3, so change that too if you run something more aggresive.

If you have any questions feel free to post or pm.

Cheers

I didn't know they ran rubber tyres in Canberra? When I visited the track everyone was running foams.

Only the mini's ran rubber... everyone else ran foam... I did see someone try carpet rubbers but they had very little grip. It isn't a racing specific carpet like ozite but it works very well with foams.

Yeah, I remember the carpet. 2' squares of industrial carpet if I recall correctly. You're also not allowed traction compound too right?

I've never seen anyone run a one way with foams. In fact your whole set up is as far from anything anyone here would run which is why I thought it was a rubber set up. I'm not criticising it as it obviously worked. I understand that with the carpet not being ozite it's quite different, I just wouldn't think it would be that different.

Rocko is a little bit different to start with

I had pretty much the opposite to that setup on my TOP.
Its all in the surface, that stuff is so strange anything and nothing works.

gee thanks brad!

If you are not using brakes (foam) why wouldn't you run a one way?

It seems pretty well documented that on real carpet the ball diff in the front makes it more consistent.

The stuff we used is only marginally grippier than rubber asphalt. Hence the 1 way

I guess if I'm going to question your set up I should at least post my carpet foam set up. This has a lot of steering and a bit too much roll. I'll probably go to an AE yellow front spring next time I'm out (just waiting on parts). The AE springs are a bit too long so I can't get my ride height any lower. Sadly TOP springs don't go stiff enough. I'm curious to see if Losi type-R springs will fit as they're a lot shorter.
