UF1 is Back In SoCal!

Agreed sounds like a good idea. The Roadrunners track is only a few minutes from me. AS for UF1. Can you post a link to where I can get the cars-kits for this class. I got the DX5 inbound and would like to build one up the road. So UF2 is a class too? I like forward to racing with you. Thanks, Steve.
The UF1 is the actual name of the Series; the classes are F1 and F2, just like the real series. F1 is more for expert level drivers, F2 for those just starting out. All drivers start in the F2 class and have to 'qualify' for the F1 class.
You can see all this info on the UF1 site: Home | UF1 RC - Formula 1 RC Racing
Look forward to having you join us.

OK I have this car inbound for F1 once I get some time with my F2 car. I wanted to build the UF1 slowly getting it all legal for my eventual(I hope) entry into F1 fromF2.
I'm looking at the lists for the motors and ESCs on the rules website. I'm seeing a lot of listing but when I try to track down some of these they are discontinued because the listing are from few years back.
I want to order today the correct blinky ESC and brushless motor combo. I see one one the Amain site that says it's ROAR approved but it doesn't say the ESC is a Blinky.
amainhobbies.com/onyx-1-10-brushless-esc-motor-combo-4000kv-onxs0501/p984893?gclid=CjwKCAjwoc_8BRAcEiwAzJevtVs528UESPDB Gfv2K4Q5Hsk5xswEtvCUlAlKjOqgAC5jpg-iZBDvBhoCAC0QAvD_BwE
If someone could recommend a combo I'd greatly appreciate the help.
BTW my practice car is coming along well. This is such a departure from slot cars and RC sailplanes and I'm really enjoying it. I joined the local track 15 minutes from my house in Freedom park and plan to start getting the feel for this next week when I finish the Ferrari.
I have one order the 11mm bearings fro the front rubber tires. The Tamiya stock didn't fir the rubber tires from Amain Hobbies.
Sorry no picture I wasn't allowed.

Hi Steve,
That set is entry level and better suited for bashing. You'd want a sensored esc system which that does not appear to be. Sensored helps make the F1 car a lot easier to drive. Also that motor would not be legal.
Do you have a motor already or are you needing to pick up the esc and motor?
This system is one of the best package deals (small for f1, blinky, sensored, 25.5 motor). Out of stock at amain but should be available elsewhere;

And if you are looking for a faster included 25.5 motor then this is a racers package;

One last question. Battery. I'm use to using all kinds of Lipoly batteries for my RC aircraft. Looking at Hobby king I found this suitable ROAR legal battery.

Being a professional film effects modeler I was skeptical about the decal peel off decals. I'm amazed how well they look. I used the old soapy water trick to slide them on and get them to line up just perfect. The body is the cast Styrene body but I do plane the Lexan body next for racing. I found this kit very well thought out and detailed in it's instructions which made it a breeze to assemble. I filled and sanded the drivers helmet and put several coats of Tamiya white primer on. Then I painted it with Tamiya red..

I finished the car and I'm practicing with foam tires. Although the rear tires fit perfectly from Amain Hobbies the included front tires and wheels didn't fit to the oil light stock bearings. If possible I'd just like to get the rubber tires along and glue them to the Tamiya stock-scale wheels.
The car handles well. I'm practicing daily as I can. Will be taking it to the track next week for some real practice. Starting the Lexan body next week.
Just got today my Tamiya F104 Pro II and no-timing brushless set up and li-polies. Will start that car next week.
Are the included rubber tires in the kit UF1 legal?
Again thanks for the help!

A bit more work done on the Pro 2. Got a different body for it but finding it difficult to find Lotus decals for it. All sold out everywhere except the UK.
Also finding hard case batteries that fit has been a problem. Even the shorties are a too tight fit. I found these on Ebay.
The C rating is a bit low but they might work for practicing on the track for now. Any recommendations would be appreciated for bats.

After a multi-year hiatus, the UF1 is on a comeback tour.
The first date you'll want to know about is the F1 Qualifier - August 27th from 3:00-9:30pm. See all the info here: https://uf1rc.com/uf1-f1-class-qualifying-part-deux/
The schedule for next season is also up: https://uf1rc.com/uf1-racing-schedule/. All but 2 locations are verified (should have those up this week). Get the races on your calendar!
F1 and F2 rules: https://uf1rc.com/rules-and-regulations/
If you do qualify for the Formula 1 class, you can also sign up for the 2022/2023 Constructor's Championship. More info here: https://uf1rc.com/formula-1-teams-2022-2023/.
Also looking at a support class. More info on that shortly.
Time to get this Formula 1 party started!

I see that the Tamiya TC-01 is getting its own class at UF1. I see it in the rules but no mention on them racing at the forthcoming race in September. Will there be a TC-01 class racing in September? Love to join in as a novice. Thanks!
