I always thought pit stops were made due to both need and strategy in a fairly long race like in the nitro classes, but in a five minute race all that can happen is just a lead change. Hardly much to look forward to unless there are 20 F1 cars on the track and even then the number of crashes will just skyrocket....

And that proves to us all that your level of thinking is one dimensional.

Not sure if you ever raced nitro or not, but in onroad cars are pitting every 5mins if they are lucky. The races for F1 are 15 mins tripple A-Mains and for F2 10 min tripple A as well.

Next time actually know what the racing is before you sound off as dumb as ever. UF1 is and has always been (3) 15 minute races with two pit stops per race. The "pit stop time" is less than a full lap. This year they added F2 (Sportsman) that is 10 minutes and 1 pit stop. That is when this thing called strategy comes in. You may be faster than the car or cars ahead of you but they are running a tight clean line and you cannot get around. Use your pit stop to get the undercut to try to get ahead of them. I doubt you even race RC F1 cars so your vote means nothing. As for the people who actually have raced the UF1 format (including myself) and hundreds of drivers across the US, the vote was taken years ago and all voted yes by showing up and continuing to race.

That's what I heard.
What's your guys honest thoughts on signing up as 2 classes (F1/F2) or combining into 1?

One Class for club racing leave motor option open to use either use a 21.5 or 25.5.

Cuda's suggestion for a three minute qualifier and 3 - 5 minute (or 6 minute races) is a great suggestion. Hopefully Charlie at CAL is reading so he could adapt this race format at his track too.

+1 on the idea....

Stick to your guns Panda. A lot of racers in RC have no vision for what can be. Just look at the ACO... they tell any and all where to go when they start sticking their noses in.
